Some Frustrations I Hope You'll Consider

I've enjoyed playing Neverwinter for almost two years now. I don't have a lot of money to invest in the game, but I purchase Zen here and there when I can, to get a little boost. Lately though, the game has been getting quite frustrating in a couple ways.

1) Let's talk about lock boxes. I have VIP, so every day I get my key and open a lock box, hoping for something worth while. Lately though, it seems I'm getting a constant stream of Mount Packs containing "Rare" insignias. I have zero need for "Rare" insignias, so I put them up on the trade house hoping to get 100-200AD for them. Now I'm also being blessed with the new Adventurer's Pack, which contain absolutely nothing of value to me, or most any player who has VIP, or the ability to buy keys. Both packs are like a nice little kick to the groin. It would be nice if the Mount Packs contained at least one Epic insignia, to make me feel like I didn't totally waste a key. The Adventurer's Pack can just go away as quietly as it was slipped into the mix. That would be super swell.
2) Drop rates for lure pieces in Chult. I know this has been beaten to a pulp, but this has really been one of the greatest sources of my frustration with the game. I'm not afraid to grind for what I want, but this whole RNG fiasco is ridiculous. I'm not opposed to making certain items more difficult to get, but when they're nearly impossible, it's kind of insulting. Case in point. Over the past three days, I've been trying to get Plagued Paws in Omu. I've spent 15-20 hours running back and forth, hoping a Rotting Sun Bear will pop up, then cross my fingers hoping it'll drop a Paw. I've gotten three. Three Paws. Back and forth and back and forth, over and over for three Paws. Throw in the "vultures" who sit back and watch me do all the work killing Sun Bears, not helping at all, only to swoop in when the Rotting Bear pops up. To add insult to injury, when I've spent hours getting nothing, and then you see the "vulture" post a Plagued Paw for 2Gmops, I wish there was an insta-kill button to take him out. I'm left wondering why I'm wasting hours of my time for a lure piece, based on what seems to be an RNG formula that's designed to be darn near impossible to luck out on. I'm not expecting a lure piece to drop every time, but there's gotta be a way to make these a little more attainable. If the RNG can't be dialed in a better, at least make the lure drops like the Rexs, so if a piece drops, everyone gets it.

I try not to complain, and I have zero clue how difficult it must be to code a game of such magnitude, but I'm sure those of y'all with big brains can sit down and figure something out. The game is fun and I thoroughly enjoy it, but it's getting to a point where the monotony and disappointment of time wasted is beginning to override the fun I was having. I've already watched friends leave the game and it's sad to see them go. I'm trying really hard not to follow in their footsteps, as I'm sure many other loyal players are. I can't speak for everyone who plays the game, nor would I, but our time and our real world money are valuable to us. When we spend hours and dollars on the game, it would be nice to feel like y'all valued it as much as we do. Thanks for your time.

I agree, I've opened 100's and been disappointed %100 of the time, but that's how they make money lol, the chance of actually getting a legend thingy must be 1 in a million. Might stop buying zen all together.

Been playing the same amount and feeling the same way. I've decided to put no more money in it anymore. The week long wait wall, after 30 min to get max weekly omu totems, horrible lure drops and unnecessary nerfs have done it for me. (Don't forget teir 3 hunt broken as well) Going to let my vip run out and come back in a few mods...maybe. 10000 zen to buy or 2 hours of pitiful play behind a 4 week wait wall.....woohoo!
Sometimes you forget, how much gaming companies really don't give a HAMSTER about the fans. Everyone is reading these and thinking the same thing. The devs are going to fix nothing, expect new nerfs.

I understand they need to make money. Server space, salaries, R&D, etc. all need to be paid for, and the money isn't gonna just fall out of the sky. I also understand the need to make the game challenging. If I could blow through every Mod in a week or two, then what? Twiddle my thumbs for 5 1/2 months until a new Mod is released? No thanks. I'm looking for value. Whether it's time or money spent, I want to feel I'm getting a good value for what I'm investing. Lately it just feels like the value is diminishing, especially with my time. I'd be willing to wager, if drop rates were improved 30-35%, it would still leave room to keep the game challenging, and it would certainly improve player morale. I think if Zen prices were cut by 40-50%, they'd sell a lot more. I know I'd be more inclined to purchase Zen if it were more affordable. I think it's time Arc released a player satisfaction survey. A legit survey, with the availability to leave comments.

Not to beat a dead horse, but every time I see a post about lockbox drops that has comments like "I've opened 100's" I laugh a little inside, and outside.

I've known people that luck out on a dozen keys. I've known people that opened 10s of thousands and never pulled a legendary. I've known people that pulled legendaries on average every 6-700 keys. Sometimes you're lucky. Sometimes you're not. Sometimes you just are never going to get lucky.

I think I've had 2 legendary pulls, a handful of epic packs, and a whole lot of stuff that got sold in the AH. I've played for about 3 years I guess and would say I've popped maybe 4000 keys.

Would I love more legendary pulls? Sure. Am I disappointed in what I've gotten? Not really. It's just a game and I spend $0 of real money on keys so it's not like I'm losing a thing.

PS Hunt drop rates suck. :)
