Mod 12b Leftover XP

I came up with a question yesterday.

When Mod 13 drops what happens to the XP that we already have. Currently it takes 1.8 mil to get an over level reward but in Mod 13 it will only take 100k. So if I have say 900k, half way, will I get 9 over levels and be reset according to the remainder or will I just be left at half way in between over levels? Thus getting screwed out of 850k XP.

Good question. Don't know how much time I want to invest in my alts if it going to be wasted.

you aren't losing credit. the cap will be lowered yes but xp won't count for as much. it's not going to be as easy going forward to get xp. it's net net. they are changing the numbers but the value of the numbers is the same as i understand it.

Hitting the overflow reward will be MUCH easier. Most PC players can hit it daily, some even multiple times a day now.

What I am talking about in losing XP is (and the OP, I think, as well) is that if we have a toon that has 1.1 million XP accrued to the next experience reward. Will we receive an experience reward for each 100,000 points (in this case 11 experience rewards). Or will we receive a single experience reward and the remaining 1 million XP be scrapped?

I don't believe that you and the OP are asking the same question. In your example, I'm pretty sure that in the PC forums they say you'll get an exp reward for every 100k you have already. So if you have 1.1M you'll get 11 rewards. You shouldn't lose any.

With the OPs example, he's specifically saying if he has 125k experience right now, when the mod hits, will he lose the extra 25k and only get one exp reward or will the remaining 25k still be there. I believe you'll still have the remainder as I've seen nothing to contradict that.

Yes this exactly what I was asking. It will take the same amount of time to get 1 mil XP as before but in mod 13 you would get 10 rewards. So if that 1 mil XP is scrapped then you will lose the same amount of game time.

I am pretty sure this is a non issue. I think it stacks. I have a recollection on pc of getting tens of xp experience rewards and thinking it was a glitch at the time. I'm pretty sure it was this. i've been stacking mine for the last couple weeks.

I had heard that there was a glitch that was giving rewards for like 10k instead of 100k. But maybe this was it. Watch today on console and see what happens. Thanks

Evidently it is one of the things they patched after PC got rewarded. Between main and alts almost 10 million exp gone.

Yep lost a ton of XP too. The thing is it will take just as long to get the amount of XP that was lost again. Granted this time will get rewards along the way but we would have gotten those anyway.

What should have happened is this. They should have reset all 70th level players XP to zero and awarded all 70th level player 1 over level reward for it. That way all the time spend prior to mod 13 is take into account.

Disagree. The xp wasn't lost. Progress was adjusted. If you were 95% close to a reward, you stayed 95% close in the new system and since the new system is faster to reward, you are actually closer to said reward now.

But if it took you 1 month to get to 1.7 mil it is still going to take you 1 month to get to 1.7 mil. Thus the last month was wasted because you lost all of that XP. Yes now you will get 10 rewards during the next month but you didn't even get 1 for the previous month spent in game. So yes you lost XP.

They introduced a good change that benefits players. Your complaint is that they didn't implement it retroactively? C'mon.

At least they could have given one experience reward for the.exp taken. Kind of disappointing to have over 1 million points taken away with nothing to show for.

I'm not saying that it isn't a bad change at all, I like the change. I'm just saying that they need to think about the player base that has been grinding before the change. This is an attempt to get them to keep things like this in mind for future changes. If you'll notice not once did I demand anything or say that I wouldn't play because of it. This is meant as feedback for future updates so that things like this are taken into consideration.

Looks like this must have been a "glitch" that they "fixed" for console players. Oh well, for better or worse.
