Portobello's Game: Adventuring Accreditation Weekly Cap Bug

Hello,

Adventuring Accreditation Weekly Cap Bug.
I am stuck with the game telling me that I have reached my weekly cap of Accreditation. The weekly cap is 100, I have only been allowed to gather 94. I now receive Unsolicited Advice item for any further attempt at reaching 100 Adventuring Accreditation. I believe what caused this was a bug with the Heroic Feats of Heroism daily dungeon completion for the first two days.

First Day of Event:
1) Logged into level 70 Trickster Rogue
2) Queued for dungeon specific to Heroic Feats of Heroism for that day
3) Final Boss of the dungeon drops a nameless item upon death with an icon image similar to a Beholder
3) Dungeon completed without being rewarded Adventuring Accreditation

Second Day:
Same as above happened.

I believe the dungeons specific to the Dailies where this occurred were:
Cragmire Crypts
The Frozen Heart

Third Day:
1) Logged into level 70 Trickster Rogue
2) Queued for dungeon specific to Heroic Feats of Heroism for that day(Cloak Tower)
3) Completion of dungeon rewards 3 Adventuring Accreditation unlike previous(reached a total of 94 accreditation here).

Everything after has rewarded me with Unsolicited Advice items. Those were the only Dailies under Heroic Feats of Heroism I completed. Will this bug prevent me from 100% completing the event and is there a work around for it so that I may cap my weekly limit?

It sounds somewhat similar to the issue PC had the last time around only with professions bugging things up. If they make a fix and if they can launch it before event is through, then they might give you the missing AA (I seem to recall them doing that for PC).
If not, you're out of luck and have to wait for next even to max this out :/
Logic is the beginning of wisdom, not the end of it.

That's a shame. I haven't seen or heard too much in-game about anyone else having this problem. Thank you for your response, ilithyn.

Why does this happen EVERY.SINGLE.TIMEthis event comes around. EVERY TIME! It’s slmost comical!

Are we taking bets the beholder bugs out when the workshop opens?

I capped at 88 and started receiving Unsolicited Advice as well. And I saw someone in game posted they hit about 84 in the chat.

I hope this is fixed soon.

The professions don't have nothing to do with it. As I have not done any profession tasks and not 1 toon has made beyond 97. The overwhelming has been 97, with others falling as low as 82.

Bugs left over again and again is the Standard Operating Procedure for cryptic. In STO there is a bug that has been there since the event was added and the event now is always running, yet they haven't fixed on major bug - the enemy doesn't attack so you sit and wait doing nothing till the final boss does emerge 5-10 minutes later, or a wandering patrol comes into your area. However they fixed another error which wasn't high on players list in the same event area (Defera Invasion Zone has 4 areas but are all like patrols (but you have others around). They have a bug if you take a quest and someone finishes it before you leave the map you get credit for not doing it or you can go and do it, hmm, another well lets ignore it.

I am going to be very sarcastic here. I think they don't fix bugs as it is a great way to keep their bosses thinking they are working on a bug and saying it is so hard to fix. Then when they move onto something else, they ensure they do no QA, why make a beta test, when we can slap on the normal servers and troubleshoot the most massive issues. I don't think they will ever fix this bug since it is job security and they will say just make it up in week 4, so they will see you just not hitting 100 on week 1 and always be behind till week 4.

They fired their long term bug fixing department and don't know it, they call them on the phone and the message says
"We are currently deeply involved in fixing a bug for the game, please submit form AA111 and mail to the US Postal Service mail and we will look into it. Some carriers never deliver it others just give it back saying they weren't open the other day and so that bug actually gets fixed, unless it requires too much work, then they also sit on it
    [End of Sarcasm]

I have to assume one of several reasons they haven't fixed issues like this:
    1) The person who coded it is not with the company anymore and no one can understand his coding (very possible)
    2) When they have tried to repair that part, the game fails to start or other issues pop elsewhere, sort of like it they pull one block out, the other blocks open up new holes. So it is better to leave alone.
    3) Their budget won't allow them to work on major fixes only quickies on released content that is crashing server or causing people to be unable to be online.
    4) They spend too much time on refinement of other parts of the game or new content to be bothered.
    5) Only the person who is responsible for the bug works on their bug and others just ignore their bug.

Might be harsh, but let me sooth the burn, with this:
I think Cryptic came up with 2 novel games in NWN and STO. STO they took that over from another company in case you didn't know. Now the overall concept is great. They spend time working on the bigger picture but as you zoom in more you start to see issues. Whether they are bugs, exploits or how one piece of the game works is broken by another or out of balance in terms of skills or other systems - all of which, are a common thing in almost any game. If they would delay new rollouts to get them perfect on day 1, I would prefer that to felling like a beta tester. They had started a beta tester system in STO where they would give you like a special duty officer or a special tribble, so you didn't feel time was wasted. They don't always listen to the community since there are so many people in each, they perhaps look to "community" leaders who serve as their primary source of problems that need fixing. I will say I like the graphics especially in NWN. Their interiors are more diverse than the generic look of STO, but then a ship is a ship and a space dock is a space dock, how not all planets follow 1 of several designs.

So slow down, test, provide incentive to stress test not just the server but provide a reward for testing X many of hours and completing certain content, perhaps some sort of special campaign that focus on the areas that need testing. Ask those who know the proc and interaction of all the skills and numbers and math, buffs/debuffs offered perhaps a VIP membership to test the new content doesn't affect the game that will break a class of character, paragon path, economy, etc. More people will test when offered an incentive than when they are often left out of the loop and pointing out issues go ignored. Perhaps they need to look inside their bug/exploit department and see if the method they are using to address issues is working the way it should, if not then reshuffle it and give it a new try. Always be transparent with the community. Communication with us more often will allow the community to know what you are doing and why and how you plan to address it, which bugs are still on going, which ones are almost fixed, etc. Whatever you do, don't find ways to anger the players like putting that Adventure Pack in the lockboxes, etc as they will not look to kindly on having to buy keys (cash, arc system - oh wait that was taken down for improvements = which we have to wonder, or on the AH).

I don't know if this board system has a polling ability but why not conduct surveys on issues or thoughts on changing things or ares to focus on. You have the community, use us, but not as beta testers on the actual game servers. If what you need to fix is a small item/bug then why not ask for volunteers who would agree to help test the fix on the beta servers or some other special test server and do several rounds with all different types of characters and players. I mean there really is no excuse for a major bug like not getting to 100 as you are suppose to in week 1 to have continued to be there. Yes you might have done some minor adjustments that inside your company your testers say work, but then they can't think of all the novel approaches to things and that is where you community can give you that diverse of a background.

You have the products, you have the community, now you need to find a way to interlink the two as a machine rather than as two different entities that don't balance the other.

I have two rooms on PS4 that's was hindered and you right all they told me sorry . I hope you understand we can't fix bugs in the game. I got the message word for word to prove. It seems neverwintee has just turned into a rackteerig scheme. With no real reason to play the game. ND oh yes there is unknown item glitch . Also there a glitch when opening chest it says special rewards and then flips right to normal bs. If that stuff is special then I'm going to go get a check for being special as well
