An idea for making glory more useful

I am a pay to play player on the PS4. I am not BIS however I only play PVP and try to progress my character every few months with a small Zen purchase. This idea is from my perspective and would help me, however I think a lot can be gained by other players also, especially players who enjoy PVP but are a long time off being competitive based on their access/ownership of high ranking enchantments/mounts.

How will this idea help me?

I like to experiment, I like to test everything, however I don't have access to preview on the PS4 and lose a lot of AD from doing this (buying things to realise they dont work and selling them again, often at a loss) and this stagnates my own character progression.

How will this idea help others?

New players who love to PVP and long time players trying out a new PVP class can become more competitive faster and experiment before commiting.

How this idea helps the game?

A taste of power can be addictive.

So onto the idea.....

1. Allow access to all ranks of Enchantments, Mounts, Artifact Weapons and Gear to be purchasable in the Trade of Blades.

2. Make these purchasable with Glory and give them all a combat timer like Wards/Drains where upon expiry they disappear. Or as an alternative allow these items to be purchased with Seals and have rechargeable combat timers like Black Ice gear but charged with Glory.

3. Restrict their use to PVP only.

Thoughts?

    Nice ideas.

I had one yesterday, but was to lazy to make a thread about it. Pvp-only mounts. These would either just be rare drops on a win or purchasable with glory. Their mount bonuses would be things that only work in pvp like "When you go below X% health you become immune to control effects for Y seconds." Or "After capping a node you gain X for 10 seconds."

Plus ofc. they would look cool.
No idea what my toon is now.

Will not help to improve PvP right now. What makes a difference in PvP right now:

    Class
    Build
    Experience and Skill
    Gear

You must reduce the impact of gear (iLvL brackets) and Class (class balance). Then you have build and experience only. Which can still make a big difference, but without the stupid iLvL and class balance issues we have now (15k toons against 10-11-12k enemies or less, or classes that clearly overperform in PvP), it would improve PvP balance a lot.

Your suggestion would not help because to get temporary gear you need to farm glory. More geared players and stronger classes will farm it 10x faster than "new players" and still have access to more gear 24/7, while new players will struggle farming glory, resulting in still less gear/ BiS gear active only for a very limited amount of time. Which means, players who have the gear advantage now, will have the gear advantage with this system too.

Unless you make it really easy to get said gear and keep it active, which would make the reward system less appealing.

I would rather see all PvE boons deactivated in PvP, with only PvP boons active. And diminishing returns to stats in PvP only (to avoid affecting PvE), so reduce the difference battlepower between iLvLs.

After that, when you have a more simple scenario and can really see how classes perform to the core in PvP, stripped by the ton of boons and stuff we have now, you can balance classes in PvP, at least to a point where no class can kill another class pressing 1 button and piercing through all the defenses effertlessly, or can be immortal, kill multiple enemies easily, exc...

After that, add rewards. Mounts, temporary gear, exc...purchasable with glory.

But AFTER balancing the above. Not before.

    My opinion.

    Great idea also.

BTW I have been meaning to thank you for the pew pew Archer thread. I have shelved my CW till next mod and am having a blast killing ppl again.

Haha I guessed right. All of your toons are super strong! My GF is always afraid of you

I also have a lot of ideas regarding crazy pvp builds but cant realize them because of the missing test opportunities on ps4. As you said before, buying new stuff, enchantments and so on for testing new ideas is really expensive and is not profitable...

Feel free to PM me @liesofjames when you see me on. I don't have a ton of things however if I have an enchantment you would like to test before committing to it, I can loan it.
