Chain of Scales vs. Tymora Lucky Coin

vjarlvjarl Member, NW M9 Playtest Posts: 93 Arc User
Not sure if this is a bug or WAI.

These 2 pieces seem to cancel each other. If I use the Chain then the Coin, Chain is applied until I flip the Coin then Chain drops and Coin applies and vice versa.

Obviously not a dev response here, but that's probably WAI since Tymora's Lucky Coin and Adorable Pocket Pet similarly overwrite each other.

Its WAI,they both count as buff trinkets, you can only have 1 buff trinket effect active, same as only 1 potion, 1 food, 1 event food etc.

Yep WAI. They droped being able to have two buffs the same time they dropped being able to have multiple blessings.

    Buff Categories

All long-term buffs in the game have been grouped into one of seven categories:
    Potion
    Elixir (eg, Wild Storm Elixir)
    Invocation
    Stronghold Food
    Event Food
Event Item (eg, the Scrolls of Fate from Winter Event)
    Trinket (eg, Tymora's Lucky Coin)
A player may now have at most one buff in each category active at one time.
Developer Note: The reason for this change was that until now players could have over 25 long-term buffs active at once, which was too many to keep track of, and led to annoying gameplay as well as balance problems. There was also very little logic to the old system -- why could you only drink one potion, but you could read eight scrolls?
Various names, icons, and tooltips have been cleaned up to match the new functionality.
A small number of narrowly-focused buffs (eg, Potion of Dragon Slaying, Potion of Everfrost Resist) have been left outside the system since they are only used in special circumstances.
*** The game can read your mind. If you want it, you won't get it. If you don't expect to get it, you will. ***

Well bugger. Was looking forward to the double buff. I suppose, if you get a crappy chain buff, you can pocket pet for something better.
No idea what my toon is now.

I put my character's coins in the bank a while ago because benefit is random 371 rating. That's is almost a +1% whoo!
Meanwhile chains is a known +1000 Regeneration or +2.5% in most areas it effects.

This is not a bug. The Chain of Scales provides a really nice buff compared to other trinkets. It wouldn't worry so much about not being able to have two buffs from trinkets active at the same time, but be happy that we have such a nice new buff item. And to keep with my trend of posts, did you notice how many new bugs they introduced into CWs along with the nerf?
