Any News on Perma Rooting TR's with Courage Break and Smoke Bomb?

Any news on a fix for it? It was acknowledged by @sgrantdev#8718 or @sgrantdev but I never saw a fix for it. I will quote some of my old posts just in case some of you have no idea just how bad this is. You are permantley rooted in place and CANNOT move. This is being exploited by some TR's and has yet to be fixed.

It's literally Courage Break, Smoke Bomb, and what could also be used is the Cloud of Steel Feature on TR's. But mainly Courage Break and Smoke Bomb.

    I haven't heard any news on a fix for this yet, its one of the more serious bugs so I hope the devs plan to deal with it soon. I wrote an explanation of this bug for a different thread but I will leave it here too:

    Courage Breaker (CB) Daily Power Bug:

    CB will sometimes root the target instead of slowing them.
    I have seen some conflicting reports on this bug.
    One version is that this bug is not so much a bug as it is that multiple slow powers can stack on top of each other until your movement speed becomes 0.
    The other version is that the slows from CB + other powers don't just stack but interact with each other in a buggy way that causes your movement speed to internally set to 0 when its not supposed to.
    I witnessed this bug take place by accident a few times before I knew the cause. Curiously, the root seemed to last for just as long as the slow this power would normally have dealt instead.

    On another note, the preview section seems to be getting noticably less traffic than usual. It may be worth checking other bug feedback sections to see if they are more active and then getting a mod to move this thread to a better location.

It's very weird how it works. But I did get a response from a dev, but had no follow up on whats going on with it.

    That too, the traffic has been nearly 0. I don't know why ??

    I thought they would be back after the holidays. I don't really know whats going on. People wan't the PvP thread answered, a follow up to the bugs like this, the TR Rework, and more clarity on whats coming and going on with the game.

    clip from 2017 prior to CB duration being cut in half. please dont post old clips and use as new evidence.

    i see this was posted in december, but you should've known from pc release CB was cut in half even if you didnt have it on xbox yet imo.

    Noticed this too, cb, smokebomb, slows from atwill, and suddenly I'm utterly imobilzed.
    No idea what my toon is now.

    I will post a new video of it still working. Cutting it in half did not stop the bug. This cut in time never fixed the bug, but instead band-aided the issue. It lessoned the chance of it happening, but it still happens. Your next comment did nothing but want to start an argument, and my original videos were out before the announcement of the nerf to CB. Please do not comment on stuff you do not know about.

    Hard to see, but I am there spinning around and cannot move. I did not purposely stop moving with my controller. That is what the perma root does.

    so you mean this persists for longer than CB's duration? cause all i see is a 5 second clip. if everyone walked away would you still be stuck 5 seconds later?

    You see me with my shield up walking, then stop moving? Immediately at 2-3 seconds I was completely unable to move. Aka, the reason why I was stuck in place then spinning around. I was then unable to move for the duration of the slow, it lasted only a few more seconds after, then it obviously subsides. By the time I was done spinning I was free. Doesn't change what happen though, the proof is right there.

    I was lucky enough to catch it in game, and on stream.

    it looks like you might have been hit by the curse bringer ring too at the time. try and repro in icewind under controlled circumstances.

    i think curse bringer is supposed to interrupt your movement.

    I was not hit with CB rings at all. Nobody in that A team ran a CB ring. We've tried reproducing it with the best TR's in the game. (30-40k Recovery) with 4 consecutive CB's. That's why I said I was lucky to catch it on stream.

    No. The lunge is Aggravating Strike. Which is the only move a Guardian Fighter can use to escape the perma root bug of CB. Other than Line Breaker Assault, Lunging Strike and Threatening Rush if they are in range.

    Not sure if you PvP, but that "gold tear debuff" is Healing Depression which halves Shields and Temp HP, as well as Reduce Healing by 75% in PvP. Every time you are hit by a player, you receive that debuff regardless of class.

    i do, i never pay attention to that though. i wonder if somehow there is a situation which allows courage breaker to apply it's slow twice.

    I've had TR's who CB'd me 4 times consecutively and from what I can see it no longer stacks from the SINGLE TR. But It does stack with multiple TR's. The slow does NOT. But the damage debuff does.

    We are aware that some combination of things can stop the movement of players. However, we haven't found any reliable repro for this issue which makes it difficult to make progress on fixing it. If we can't repro it reliably, we can't also test that what we're doing has fixed it. We have rogues in our internal PvP Playtests and have seen this behavior on the fly, but haven't been able to go back and recreate it on demand.

    Some of the times it appears to be Impenetrable Jungle which currently only has a debuff icon (no pop up text or effects on the player) but there is certainly more going on than just that (and we have added an effect and pop up text for that boon for a future update).

    If anyone has found a specific way to make this 0 movement speed happen, we would appreciate a PM on the details to help us get a solid fix in place.

    @noworries

    I would assume the sandy pants were also be part of this stun lock meta /test and it has already been adjust once down from 5 seconds to 3 (per player per item activation ) ..... why are none of these items affected by your pvp cc resist stacking system and are seemingly by passing it as are a number of powers and items and boons .. this stuff needs to be flagged to work with the pvp cc resist system

    Guys.....why do you think this bug fixes at TRs takes so long? No one saw the last stream "state of the game"??
    Read this plz:
    "They however have some guys looking into the Trickster Rogue and Scourge Warlock right now. Part of the reason why class balancing took so long was that nobody in the studio really knew how to do it. They first had to train someone since the last dev with massive knowledge in that area left a while ago."

    So ho would you fix a bug, if you dont know the class? Lets see who can solve this riddle first.
