1. The first random epic dungeon was MSP. We got to the first boss and lost a DPS. One person had never done it before, and we were struggling. From my perspective, it looked like there were at least 2, maybe 3 on the team that did not know what to do here. When the DPS abandoned the instance, the random queue system did not try to bring in anyone else. Why? There would be no way we could make it through MSP without 5 toons. Why does the system not try finding reinforcements for those who do want to stay and try to make it work?
2. My 2nd random epic dungeon was VT, which went very smooth and fast.
3. I later had some fun to see if I could random queue into T9G (I have ran it enough to get all the gear for my toon from the seal of the brave and am very familiar with the mechanics of this dungeon). Here is what I experienced:
- I am a healer, so I did not need to wait too long... max time was about 5 minutes.
- I made two attempts. For the first run, as we loaded in, the tank left the group immediately. I checked to see if they only left the group and not the instance but they were nowhere to be found. Again, the system did not try to bring in reinforcements, so we had to bail.
- The second seemed to be going fine but apparently one of the DPSers didn't so they bailed. Again, the system did not bring in any reinforcements and I could not find any way to bring someone else in.
I think the concept is great with making these dungeons pop more often, but this is definitely broken. Last night, my DPS buddy told me that they waited for 30 minutes to try to get into a RQ T9G and ended up leaving the queue. So, maybe this isn't working as much as it should be. I will continue to run T9G with my guildies and alliance members and only run the RQ T9G when I am feeling bored or want to be amused with the mishaps.
If you get anything out of this, please do something about having the system find more reinforcements if someone quits. I'm happy to try to help others get through a dungeon for the first time or at least see if we can get through the first boss... but the system doesn't allow us to do that. It seems like we are forced to do the random queues but the system ends up forcing us to quit the dungeons... Doesn't make for a good player experience.

I appreciate that it doesn't trigger reinforcements automatically, since that gives you a window to leave a failed run. Abandoning when there are fewer than 5 players in party doesn't trigger the leaver penalty.
It'll take some time for folks to get used to the changes, for sure...
Another thing that I don't like are the rude randoms who complain about them being the "only" dps or that the tank isn't doing their job. I mean, can't we try to figure out how to work together? I hate having to deal with these guys and it really makes the game NOT fun. I pm'd one rude guy and said, hey, if you are going to do random dungeons then you need to expect to get folks that may not be quite ready for the dungeon. They informed me that they manually selected "fbi" and "msp", so that tells me that the queue system bundles together the random queue and the "not random" queue together. So, folks who know that they are ready for a dungeon may not expect to get someone who is just trying to get their daily AD and feel like they have a right to be rude. It is just very frustrating now to get the daily AD. I may just find other sources and avoid the random epic dungeons unless i have a complete queue group.
Sorry for the rant. Can't we all be friends or at least be respectful? :-)
PS. Please make scrolls of mass life purchasable with gold.
I'm getting either FBI/MSP or Valindra/Malabog. Haven't completed 1 T3 PUG through the new improved system, and since I still have to run the same Dungeon of Choice I would have done before in order to get the same RAD from combined Bonus and Salvage after a T1, I'm still at a loss as to how this speeds things up and avoids "burnout".
But since FBI and MSP are firing more often, they appear more popular on the game report stats, so someone somewhere has achieved their goal.
It may be firing more often, but I can guarantee that the success rate of those dungeons from the random q is abysmal.
Cos, obviously, that makes more sense... in someone's reality, anyway.
