Refinement system - where do you get marks of potency/enchanting stones?

Im a fairly new player, and I seem to be missing something here.

Im trying to gear up and upgrade enchantments and artifacts, but I almost never get any marks of potency or enchanting stones as drops.

Now I know they must be out there as the AH is full of them, but many of them are very pricey, usually in stacks of 99, and Id prefer to spend my AD on gear first. But the mass quantities mean they must be dropping somewhere, I just never get any.

Occasionally I luck out and get one from invoking, but those are few and far between and are always bound.

Now with the new refinement system, the enchantments dont even drop any more. When I started I was getting rank 5s from dungeons all the time. Now I never get them, just gems.
RP are easy, I have tons of those, but the required marks and enchanting stones never drop.
Gems as drops are not enough, you need the other reagents to upgrade an enchantment, so why dont they drop as often as the rank 5 enchantments used to?

Somebody please enlighten me, where is everybody getting them? Im talking about even the low level minor, lesser and moderate marks and enchanting stones.

    I think most green and blue enchanting stones come from leadership bags. And most red enchanting stones come from the Dread Ring lairs main chest, except on Mondays and Fridays. Enchanting stones also drop from enchantment packs in lockboxes.

    For mark of potency, I think the major source are from packs in lockboxes. You can also get them from the Dread Ring lairs second chest using the gauntlet. If you have high-level VIP, you probably want to buy them from the Wonderous Bazzar instead of the AH.

    Ive never seen them from the dread ring lair 2nd chest, all I get is low level junk gems from that. always.
    What gauntlets do you need to get anything decent out of it> Because right now its usually 1 peridot with a silver gauntlet. Im working on upgrading that as well but didnt expect much since the reward so far was so substandard, the same as a trash uncommon gear drop.

    Ive probably seen a few from the dread ring lair main chest, but that's only once a day, and I could swear they are bound.
    I also never see any in the rare leadership boxes, which is the best I can make atm.

    And wondrous bazaar? those prices are ridiculous.

    I guess my main problem is that they took away the enchantment and runestone drops and replaced them with gems but no marks or stones, so it s basically a loss if you werent just going to refine them.

    Despite their claims, new players are worse off.

    You need the purple gauntlet which you have to grind out the campaign. There is the orange gauntlet that you can buy, but I don't remember how.

    The DR lair drops are unbound, at least pre mod12b it was. I haven't done DR lairs since. Also a tip, you can pick up the gauntlet on Mon and Fri and use it the next day. So you can use the gauntlet twice in one day. You will need to buy a key to run the lair more than once.

    With rank 12 VIP, you get 25% discount. Sometimes you can buy from WB and sell on AH and make some AD even after the 10% fee.

    I think you need to slot the Fey Blessing utility enchantment for enchantment drops.

    Thanks, I wasnt aware you could run the lairs more than once a day, I thought it was only available as a daily quest.

    If you are looking for enchantment rank 5, you can get it from the seal vendor next to the profession vendor in PE. You can use the seal (not the protector one) from level dungeon to buy rank 5.

    edit: the seal I referred to is Seal of the Adventurer.

    Yes, Im aware of the seal vendor. If it werent for that Id have no enchantments at all since the stones and marks to upgrade the rank 1s in the store are virtually impossible to get.

    I have also had some of the lower level ones drop in the bags you get for invoking. Also if you save up your celestial coins you can buy a chest with some for eleven of those coins.

    Main source of Potency is the Wondrous Bazaar.

    They are not that expensive in the AD store.

    I get a bunch of peridots, plus the occasional sapphire or opal, using the dragon hoard enchantment(s) in my utility slots. Not sure if this is what you are looking for, bur I hoard them then wait for a double refinement period to use them (when I'm patient...). The marks of potency elude me, which is why I am cruising these threads...

    Not sure what platform you are on, but 2 x refinement is gone on PC, and I believe Mod 12b drops on the other platforms next week. I do not know if those platforms are getting a final 2 x refinement before Mod 12b or not. In any case, your days of waiting patiently for 2xRP events are almost over.
