This power rarely does any damage. Btwn it's same effect for both stances, just initiation is different. Lame.

As I have mentioned in another thread, its not so much as doing little dmg but rather it's not doing dmg at all in the aoe yellow marker of the intended target. It's as if the target is immune to the arrows raining down on it and sticking a finger at you with contempt.

my observations as of today - 6th - also includes cordon of arrows, so that pair which fit together nicely appears to be a no no until it is rectified. cordon is a bigger issue really since its control more than dmg

this is the 2nd thread on this since the last few patches.. I haven't unslotted CoA or RoA yet
someone needs to check plant growth and also grasping roots, that the interaction between that feat and all the other HR powers haven't been bugged/stealth nerfed

maybe HR is quietly getting the SW treatment?

i seriously doubt that, i use cordon of arrows and plant growth exp no issues using either powers, plant growth always does substantially more dmg than cordon because of combat build. hr hasnt been really nerfed all that much, rain of arrows are random arrows fired down from above some hit, some don't, most often than naught targets move so obviously it's going to miss. i've used rain of arrows just cuz i was bored and saw plenty of damage dealt, not nearly as much as my rotation but still does damage.

I think the reason I am not buying your "it is just RNG" explanation is the marked reduction in damage that has happened sense the update. While I have seen where a monster will move out before the arrows begin to hit, I am seeing where mobs do not even react as if they have been attacked now. In the past, even if not all of them took damage, they began to run toward me when I rained on them. Now they don't as if it is not even doing an attack. That is not an RNG function as far as I understand it.

bringing this back up for the OP, since they wanted rain of arrows working (I gather)
discovering that I had another toon get issues (cleric) I used the internet to hunt for answers
short answer is ... options window, at bottom is a button - reset to defaults, I gather it reloads various stuff, anyway it worked for my cordon of arrows and rain of arrows, and also chains of blazing light on my cleric. Hope this helps. Just check afterwards, graphic settings, keybinds, et al are still right

RoA often does absolutely nothing. Put over a group of Redcaps and none take DMG or respond and attack.

RoA is wonky. So is Hawkshot too. Sry, dont mean to jack the thread but i think developer should know this too.

    https://www.arcgames.com/en/forums/neverwinter#/discussion/1230419/hawkshot-bug

I think both RoA and Hwakshot is affected by the terrain. Sometime my hawkshot did no damage when the terrain is not flat enough.

Also i think developer did mention that RoA damage is not random in mod10 patch HR rework. Anything that is within the circle will be damage equally and has nothing to do with the animation where the arrow land.

I have problems with Rain of Arrows, Cordon of Arrows and Bear Trap, too! They just don't work, at all. With all of them one needs to focus somewhere on the ground first (big yellow circle) and it is not working. For example, I have Cordon of Arrows on R. I press R, nothing is hapenning, no yellow circle, but I loose focus (little double white circle). If I press Alt I can see yellow circle but obviously it doesn't work. It was like that for few days by now, maybe two or three. What is thiiis, I want my CoA baaack... :(

Go into options and reset your keybinds. There is a bug that effects ground targeted powers from all classes. Once it triggers, resetting keybinds seems to be the only to fix it. It doesn't matter if you haven't touched them before and you can change them aroind later. This also fixes the bug where the scroll wheel zoom becomes stuck, usually at max zoom.

Oh it works! Thanks a lot! I tried it almost immediately after more thorough reading of the tread, but forgot to feedback. I'm so sorry for bothering you! Now, thanks to you, wonderful person, I don't only know how to fix it, but also why that's happened. Yay! <3
