Class Change Token?

rhymenoiserhymenoise Member Posts: 50 Arc User
We have race re-roll tokens but no class re-roll tokens currently.

With new the new classes and loadouts, I kinda want to be able to re-roll the class of some of my characters. For example I have 2 tricksters they used to have different builds but since loadouts are a thing now, I made a second loadout on one of them and it kinda makes the second one useless. Both of them have good items and campaign progession and it's kind of a waste to just delete one or just leave it.
So it would be quite nice to re-roll one into a different class.

Only option is to delete and start over if you want a new class.
I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.

    Just pitching the idea.
Plus I really don't want to toss all the work I put into my 2nd tr.

Strip it and pass it if you can.

Sadly most of it is bound and I poured AD into upgrades :/

Ok, personally, the thought of people rerolling in masses to the flavor of the month scares me.

But have you thought about gear? You reroll and suddenly your best weapons and armor are for a wrong class.
  • It's been brought up before, and it's a bad idea. If you don't like your class anymore, just use it for professions, salvaging, and maybe weeklies. It's really not that hard to reach max level in this game.

The same people that would do that just pay for max level, etc. They normally have the other classes on the backburner, waiting for them to be the meta.

The gear is nothing special, it's more compainions, mounts and campaign progession. It's not that I don't like the class any more, tr is fun, but the second one is redundant since my first one now has a loadout simular to the 2nd one.

I know that it's not hard to hit 70, but it kinda sucks that so much good stuff is bound to character. Armour can be salvaged, weapons can be used for refining. I'm just giving my two cents and I think it would be a nice option to have, expecially since loadouts are a thing now.
  • I have 5 level 70s that I no longer play at all. I don't sweat it.

[Unlock for account token], Where the Hamster are you?

I don't see anything wrong with letting people pay to do that if they want. Though I would prefer if I didn't have to pay to change a character's name.

EDIT: Actually though, there is the danger of ending up with a game where every single piece of equipment is bound to character or bound to account.

I'm actually fine with bound to account items. It means worse case, I can transfer it to a different character. Even if I have to pay some AD to unbind it.

But if all equipment was bound-to-account, you could never buy or sell any gear at all on the AH or trade with other players.

I care only about bunch of my bound stuff (Mystic artifacts, legendary mounts, legendary companions, artifact equipment) on my abandoned character.
We can swap legendary rings across characters.
    We have Race Reroll.
    We have Loadouts.

Why we can't transfer listed stuff above inside account?
Why we don't have account shared mount stable?
Why we don't have account shared profession resource storage?
Why we can't transfer some exotic currency (companion tokens etc) to other character..
Why we don't have an HIV vaccine?

Yeah, less bound to character and more bound to account.

This is more about "Equiped" equipment to be bound-to-account.

I know. I'm just saying that if they starting selling unbinding tokens, then the sky is limit. Everything might end up bound to character, and you would have to buy a token to unbind it to account or to make it bind-on-equip. The tokens to make things bind-on-equip would be more expensive, of course. Remember, the game can change at any time.

I have extra character slots, it's that I have a tr with great bound items and campaign progression but I don't play since I made it's build on a loadout of my other tr. What I was pitching is for a class change token because I think this tr would make a great gwf or even a new class, when it comes out.
  • Btw, there are more than 2 ways to build a TR. Why don't you experiment with some different builds?
  • strathkinstrathkin Member Posts: 1,798 Arc User
I think a change class token would be very well received even if it were 2500 - 3000 zen which would be slightly more than a Race Reroll; it need to be more cause if you change a class you may also likely require changing boons and purchased powers so it would also have to RESPEC all powers & boons first prior to changing and updating the class.

I realize we have the Level 70 character Unlock with some elemental boons which is great for those who want a new class.

Still I don't see why they couldn't expand Race reroll to also have a Class Reroll. They could even offer a bundled package which includes Class & Race reroll's if someone wanted to try something entirely new.

True but I'm not in the mood to faf around with tr builds.

You can buy Elemental Evil Campaign Completion with Level Boost (from 60-70) for 3,000 Zen. You can also buy the Maze Engine Campaign Completion for 2,000 Zen. The Tyranny of Dragons Campaign Completion costs 2,000 Zen as well. Two new character slots cost 500 Zen. Why would we they let you re-roll your class for only 2,500-3,000 Zen?

EDIT: Also, I don't think they want people to be able to instantly convert a high IL character to a new class if they ever do introduce another class.
