Dropped Item Glow Missing (Bug Report)

posineg#7890 posineg Member Posts: 17 Arc User
Greetings,

I am submitting a bug report concerning the dropped item glow normally attributed to a dropped item from combat.

Summation: When a item (Currency, weapon, potion ...) drops from a combat, the glow around the item no longer appears. This has become a burden due to environmental conditions (Tall grass, water, rocks...) in that the item will often be obscured by the environment and without the glow the item becomes lost to the view.

The item glow loss became apparent after the 4/4 update though the loss could have happened before the update and not became apparent due to lack of combat.

Thank you for your help,
J

Just found out that everything concerning the Dropped items glow that was missing is not longer missing. Thank you for the help... if there was help.
  • well I find that this issue still persists, it only seems to occur during extended periods of play and does just affect items on the floor, it seems to affect a lot of particle affects in the game for example I cannot see if I have marked an enemy with my SW with her curses when this problem is occurring.

Same, force quit game and its fine again, until you go afk for more than 30 min, or run big events, more than 10 players, DF, dragons in wells Tiamat and so on. To many fx seems to crash it. Also on SW

This is an issue I have seen, and usually includes the loss of the quest trail as well as some other graphic glow effects (PoP stops flickering, some mounts lose part of their graphics such as the nightmare flames and tensers disc loses its star field and thickness).

Anyway, it seems to be a glitch that happens in the main body (may be related to graphics, but appears to remain in primary cache memory). The only way I have been able to make it go away is to wipe NW from the Cache. This can be done by doing a hard reboot (unplug and restart) or switch games (I use Dragon Age as it is large enough to need to wipe the entire cahce), and restart NW. (I do not know how XBox works for certain, but it seems that the power button is just a suspend button and it maintains game data in cache when powered off, which is why the hard reboot is required).

As a side note, it seem that something in the SIege event causes this to occur more regularly than normal. I see this glitch once or twice a week usually, but during this past weekend (I spent a lot of time farming Siege Battlefield) I found it happened much more often (I think it has to do with one of the dragon effects, but haven't tried tracking which dragon it is).
