It SUCKS!! In every possible definition of the word, pvpv in Neverwinter sucks. I have played many games involving pvp and have had an enjoyable, challenging and exciting time playing. But not in Neverwinter, the pvp system in this game is botched and utterly unenjoyable. I have heard many players describe it as two different games in one. For what its worth, I agree, one that is fun to play (PVE) and one that is terrible (PVP). Take the pvp back to the drawing board arc studios, there are a whole lot of people out there completely turned off to an aspect of your game because it is poorly conceived.

PVE and PVP never like each other in any MMO game I have played. One always ruins the other and NW is no different.
The problem stems from trying to balance classes for PVE and it ends up breaking PVP. Or the devs balance a class in PVP and it makes the class a joke in PVE. Typically a class that is really good in PVP is bad in PVE, but there are rare times when once class can dominant in both areas of the game and it becomes a Flavor of the Month class until it is adjusted to not be as strong in PVE or PVP or both, than another class will take that class spot in PVE or PVP or both.
Look back to when NW was originally launched on the PS4. SW were PVE favorites due to how strong they were. Now PVE is run by HR and GWF for highest damage on average. PVP was originally dominated by TR and now HR are in there and currently from what I have seen, HR are the current FotM class in NW due to how strong they are in both PVE and PVP even though many players don't know how to play them properly.
I also dislike that pvp tends to attract a group of people that I try to avoid in real life. People that enjoy causing other people grief and unhappiness (not all pvp players are this way - but a good number of them are). I don't mind doing PVP versus my friends because then it is good natured. Regular pvp is rarely good natured.

The way I see it is,
Domination is just another dungeon and probably the most difficult one in the game. You might come across a lot of adds that are easy to defeat. You may even come across a very difficult mob or a boss who can one-shot you.
Like any dungeon it is a risk to pug it. Like any dungeon it is easier to run with people you know who are experienced running it. And like any dungeon you can learn to overcome its difficulties, and before you know it you can run it with your eyes closed.
This is a question everyone should consider.
If I have a friend who has no hours of experience in PVE/PVP and do not have good PVE/PVP gear, what advice would I give them?
NW PVP reminds me a lot of the PVP I hated in DCUO. It is why I don't play NW PVP.
I hate 1 shots or 2 shots that I see in NW. That needs to be fixed.
Gear Gap: this includes boons, gear, mounts, etc. A BIS PVPer has so many tools available that a fresh PVPer doesn't have access too.
Match Making: there is no reason why a fresh 70, or someone that has never stepped foot into PVP should be matched up against a BIS player. This makes for extremely boring matches and it leaves a bad taste in the new players mouths.
Over all tankiness: self healing, dmg mitigation, and all around survivability is insane. Come Mod12 we will see just how bad this really is with the piercing changes.
Players not wanting to change: I'm sorry but your PVE build isn't going to work in PVP. You need to change what you do, loadouts help with this to quickly change without needing to respec. You need to build for PVP if you want to survive.
These are just a few of the issues I see everyday on PS, all I do is PVP it's a part of the game that I love. I really want to see it fixed from its current state.

That is very true, I first tried pvp during my 20s I think and it seemed Ok even though I lost the match, but then I got to 70 and I tried it again for a 2nd time and even though we won the match it felt a little unbalanced because this one guy in our team could basically just 1 hit the other team o,O.

PVP in most games are imbalance as I stated in another thread or was it this one, can't recall.
Regardless, any chances to PVP will impact PVE and vice versa. The only way to ensure this is not the case, is ensure abilities are less effective in PVP and increase the cool downs on our abilities with changes to how a stats work as well. Even with those type of update, a change in ability on the PVE side can impact the PVP side and vice versa and that is where imbalance lies for both PVE and PVP.
Best way to solve this is create PVP only abilities that we open up as we level up. This way we have PVP abilities that are useless in PVE and PVE abilities that are useless in PVP. This way, the devs can balance abilities around the type of content we run.
