Aboleth set to purple and a green set of relic artifact weapons from somi, it's hard for me to find a group for msva, nsva to get the marks to upgrade. My first question is does the difference between aboleth and somi weapons merit such a grind to uprade the relics? Second question is someone told me the new strong hold weapons are BIS now, and I should focus on those, but that even tho they are strong hold weapons, they are made in master crafting? Does that mean when the chult expansion comes out they will be out dated? Or is that only with master crafting armor? I'm so confused please help. Thanks in advance.

Since you can't get it, then that leaves you with Stronghold, Aboleth, or Mirage (not like GWFs need AP from Fey, right?).
SH wins over Aboleth and Mirage because of the better set bonus. Although Aboleth and Mirage give a bigger % of damage bonus, their uptime isn't particularly great. The 20 second cooldown means that it's possible to not have the buff when you need it most (like melting bosses), which gives the SH set more consistency (passive 2% damage buff all the time, which also benefits your party regardless of if they have a SH set or not).
Between Aboleth and Mirage, Aboleth would probably be the next best choice because its set damage bonus slightly edges out the Mirage. However, Aboleth can potentially be worse than Mirage due to the can-can animation, which overrides normal boss animations. Some players love to read the boss animations so they can dodge, but if you "overrride" the animation, they might get upset. So, if you often run with players who watch enemy animations, you might want to skip Aboleth over Mirage.
If you're too lazy to grind for the River District stuff and/or too poor to buy Titansteel Claymore/Manticore Swordknot, then go for the Chult weapons in Mod12. They have the exact same weapon damage, slots, and refinement method as the River District weapons and are extremely easy to get (last I checked, they were BoE and craftable for cheap, so they'll probably be somewhat cheap on the AH on live release). In exchange, the Chult weapons have the worst set bonus of all your options (2000 of a random stat at combat start... imagine getting Regen).
But I also think that the devs intended it, or probably won't fix it soon since I think Aboleth has another joke feature (ie, Aboleth is supposed to be the joke weapon).
There was that bugreport about getting turned into a chicken while low health and using an Aboleth set, and the devs replied with a hurricane of puns (ie, implying that the chicken effect was an intended feature).
