PS4 Armor enchant suggestions

Ok, so I have a DO and was wondering which enchant I should use for armor. I've been reading a lot of suggestions for Soulforged but I've been thinking that if I die, whatever killed me would just kill me again as soon as I pop back up. That doesn't seem helpful. Soooo, negation?

Lesser Soulforged is a cheap investment that carries over. It IS true that if you die, you pretty much just get downed again, but there are the occasional circumstance where a soulforged can be useful.

Elven Battle is useful for more dodges and it doesn't look fugly. But this requires you to be god-tier at dodging, which may not happen in laggy situations.

Trans Barkshield is probably the BiS choice because it's the only enchant which actually attempts to eliminate damage (negation reduces but not eliminates damage). Even though the stacks disappear quickly under a lot of damage, you shouldn't be getting hit that many times on DC for it to matter (unless it's a specific gimmick, like Nostura's Curse Stacks).

Soulforged is good. Yea, you can easily get downed again if you don't move, but you have a fair chance of dodging away and get yourself healed back up.

question one should always be pve or pvp?

In pvp i would say elven battle > negation > anything else (could argue for the improved barkshield here since incoming damage is near constant it will be hard to get barkshield stacks back up meanwhile negation will likely be constantly up)

In pve it depends on your role. If your an offtank healer with plenty of AD trans negation boosts your recovery (as much as 10%).

If your more of a tanky player you may find barkshield taking some of your incoming damage is useful but I doubt it since it won't keep you up for long boss fights. Elven Battle is probably better for tanky characters since a dodge is a full damage immunity compared to barkshield which is up to a 80k hp immunity every 24 seconds but it's situational.

If you looked at it strictly as math my dc takes 5 seconds to gain enough stamina for a dodge. With an elven battle that would be reduced to 3.5s. So your talking an additional dodge every 15s which is a full damage and cc immunity vs an 80k damage immunity every 24s. So if your a good dodger negation certainly has the potential to out perform barkshield.

If your on a budget, lesser soulforge is the way to go. So basically if you can't afford trans armor enchantment do a lesser soulforge. If you can afford trans I would recommend elven battle for pvp negation or elven battle for pve depending on your role.
