Double Shards and Stronghold Starter Pack

I'm planning on buying a SSP but was wondering if the double shards apply to the chests of power within?
If so, I'll buy one this weekend even if I don't drop a 15% voucher... if not I'll wait.

If anyone knows I'd appreciate a heads up.

    Yes, at least on PC, when you open the chests of power the shards are doubled. Can't imagine it being different on consoles.

    Thank you. i shall cross my fingers for a 15% off anything voucher over the weekend, which will no doubt arrive on Wednesday of next week.

    I can confirm the Stronghold Chest of Power gives double. Opened 65 last time and 64 this time around.
