Queuing as a DPS

Hi everyone!

My main is an OP tank and I've been working on a DPS CW after completing all campaigns.

Ive been trying to queue for things and have to wait for an hour for any epic dungeon! Is this normal for DPS on PS4?

My guild hasnt been running queues that need dps so I'm having trouble upgrading my new lvl 70's gear. Any advice?

Nope, there is 50 dps for 1 tank/heal in this game.
So the queues are almost endless, you need to be in a good guild/alliance to play faster.
Otherwise you can use zone chat to spam or check if someone need a dps.

This the kind of things Cryptic should dev blog or something like that.

It wouldn't kill them to post a news or something explaining the game lack dcs and tanks and that people should consider make ones ( at least new players )
Or give the means to make dcs and tanks faster but they WANT you to pay gigantic amount of money to make an instant toon lvl 70 with campain boons instead of ease the process of alting.
(Like it would be easy so easy to allow us to use campaign currencies from our mains to our alts... But money makes the world go round...)

Concerning gear, i main a dps when my Dc alt hit 70, i bought gear with my main and transfered to my alt ( Drow gear from outer dark vendor and assault gear from town vendor)
No bis when it comes to GS but help a lot to start.
My point is the vendors sells stuff for others class that you can buy.

Then you can drop artifact gear with your main and hope its not bind to character or simply buy it from AH...
Same goes with runes and enchants.

It is all too common in MMORPGs, DPS outnumber Tanks and Healers. This is why you get ridiculous ITLv demands from groups.

It's a similar situation on XBox which is one of the reasons my main character is my pally.

It's true all mmo share the same problem but on consoles it's worse.
For many players it's their first mmo ( like me) so most of them make a dps without knowing what's waiting for them later.

That's why i said there should be communication about that.
We can't fix the past but we can always ease the future state of the game by communicate about this matter or ease the process of making alts dcs/tanks.

Communication would be great, problem is that there isn't any for Consoles overall, there might be a little blurb here and there, but the majority of the time all we are is a revenue stream.

One of my guildmates has a monster of a DPS - and he will sit in a queue or LFG for the day waiting to get into something. Until I get home from work so that if I play the healadin we can hop directly into a dungeon.

I also do this, and i know a lot of other supports do too.

If you're dps you need to get into a guild so a support class can attach themselves to you for a couple hours.

Also if you main a DPS, make your secondary a useful support - that way you can trade out with people. I get on my healadin and take my friends into dungeons, then one of them swaps to a DC or tank and I take my DPS in.

You're just gonna have to be another one of those guys that sits around in protectors enclave and spam different chat 2-3 times in a row every 10 seconds like every other DPS in the game.. The sad thing about it is guardian fighter, oathbound paladin and devoted cleric are fun to play pve also but everyone wants to be elite DPS MLG pro master gods, show off, brag etc etc.. Nobody thinks it's cool sitting around buffing or looking at the scoreboard and being like WOW i tanked SO much damage that run.. lol typical.

BTW their are people that are content with being a more useful team player for groups like tanks or healers but most class in neverwinter ARE DPS.

    That's not true rendezvous...
Like i said, this is the first mmo for many players on console exept fake mmos like Destiny and the Division who have a totally different class system...

Trust me if people knew from the very begining when launching the game how it's important to have dcs and tanks, they would make these class from start...

This is the job of Cryptic to advice people on that matter..

Again when you discover something new you tend to act in known field and since beating things is very common in video games, it's natural to choose a dps as a beginner.

And yes i agree, playing a dc is very cool. I like magic stuff and my main SW and my alt DC are both magicians in the end casting spells, so i like playing both.

And trust me, yeah, people like being the best dps player, but they know that without a good tank or dc, they would do nothing and respect them.
In the end our buffs add to the dps numbers after all.

DPS are carry classes don't know why people flock to play them. I guess they like to kill things faster just don't go about thinking it's all you when you clear the round. It's because of support you're all able to survive and have inflated numbers at the end to gloat about which means nothing. There is no "I" in team.

I know a lot of DCs who quit because of the cost of the class. It's much cheaper to switch to a dps class.

I think the problem with the lack of tanks and DCs is that it's so slow and painful in the beginning to solo that unless you have people you know to run with then it gets frustrating. I know, as a OP tank, i've been frustrated many times on how long it takes to solo a quest because of our low dps. And i hear that from DCs as well. Then the nerf after nerf... in each update/ mod. Hence why it's becoming more and more difficult to find a decent tank or DC. Very few have the patience to build a tank or DC. And like it was said earlier, everyone wants to come in and be the god of destruction. Most of the classes are DPS classes. Even the DCs have a dps class/ build too. Can't stop myself from laughing why i say dps DC. lol.

During double XP I took my last 3 characters from 60-70. A SW, OP tankadin, and DC.

I soloed almost everything on the SW and did solo everything on the OP. I spent half of the time screaming and fleeing on my DC. Props to you DC players I'd have quit the game if I'd have done that character first. I had to call in a DPS friend to get me through it. I'm sure I could have done it, but I'd have been so frustrated by the end of it I might have deleted him.

At one point in Spinward we were laughing because I came running through looking like Indiana Jones in the beginning of Raiders of the Lost Ark with the entire tribe after me - I was screaming "Help I found them ALL" and he was just laughing at me as he mowed them down. It was awful.

DPS'ers who want there to be more tanks and healers in the game - need to offer their services out to help get them leveled.

DC is dirt cheap now if you play DO.

My DC was invoked to 70 lol. All the people that start off maining a healer/tank are nuts. Everyone can pretend that it's a cake walk but you slog through dailies and whatnot without bondings where a DPS can just slap on a cheap augment.

I don't think I'd even bother playing if I had to restart because the barrier to entry is so much higher than it was in mod 6. Back then everything was a lot more expensive (100k gmops) but you could also do dragon runs and make 20-80k per run.

Then they did the gmop/smop changes and everyone was essentially was able to cash in their enchants for free upgrades. Then we got wards from the TBar store. Now though? You'd have to get an army and invoke your way into coal wards to get your first perfect enchant and then Cryptic pulled the rug out and made Lightning enchant BiS.

The only thing players have going for them now is Wanderer's Fortune otherwise it's such a cluserhamster I don't understand why people start playing this game.
