Most of the new recipies for crafting weapon/offhand AND the armour pieces require fartouched ressidium which only drops in master spellplauge,im a 14.7k GWf and i have not even been able to get a party together to do mSP yet ,why? becuase im not in a rank 20 guild, all the r20 guilds are making premade parties for it.Fartouched residium is also a very rare drop and hence its 1.9 million AD on the AH. This is extremely unfair that crafting should be gated behind a dungeon that noone really wants to do,i DO NOT want vivified gear,i completed mastercrafting to do away with grinding for gear,i want to craft my own gear ,so why am i stuck with either grinding mSP or spending 5+ million AD per piece of gear, since it takes more than one fartouched residium per piece for many of the recipies. And still has a good chance of failing. Hell stick them in the zen market at least i could buy them at a reasonable price! Also it is GWF/Gf/and DC armor/weapon/offhand that are the only classes of gear that is gated behind master spellplague(mSP) which is the most unpopular dugeon ever.it takes 3 x longer to run than FBI or mSVA for starters and the rewards for the time spent are worse than any other dungeon.

to remind : old professions required to do malabog and valindra to get materials to craft weapons.
This is extremely unfair that crafting should be gated behind a dungeon
whats more HAMSTER unfair is that its really gated behind being rich. More than half the HAMSTER community cant do master craft and thats HAMSTER
Beside the rich poeple the idea of the masterwork gated behind strongholds was: all guild work together to craft items for the guild. HOW much would cost if a guild leader say: you all help and we create in 1 character a mastercrafter with all recipes? you want to know how much? ALMost nothing.
SO the correct is : poeple did the above and the rich.
I dont believe they ever stated masterwork was for everyone. In fact, they stated clearly that it was something for the 1 percenters and it was not for everyone.
So now you have a choice...run a dungeon hundreds of times and possibly never get a full set of gear, or do other things to make AD, and buy the mats you need off the AH to craft the piece you want and maybe fail.
At least the took out the RNG involved for the first levels of masterwork...assuming you have a guild that is.
And MSP is not hard to find a group for because of guilds...its hard because the loot stinks and the 2nd boss is just terrible.
Most people don't like Mastercraft and 95% of people avoid it like the plague. I'd be far happier to see a few more useful items or even Rare projects in many professions for better rewards. As for mastercraft I'm tired of completing one grind to then just replace it with yet another.
Character advancement is far too slow... in far too many area's of the game... It's clear if you see players who've played for 2-3 years sometimes more but still just breaking 11k on a few characters. It be nice if regular professions offered more Rare reward's, some more Rare Projects to look for, far more gear choices, even options for companions...
As for Alchemy & Leadership they should start earlier on to earning slightly better rewards given how long it takes to advance each of them.
You could even add a new profession that allowed you to create completely new types of enchantments or runestones of a much greater diversity with far wider range of available buff's. Still I'd love to see rewards from Celestial Chests be a little more focused on the type of rewards they give and even some nicer rewards from gameplay.

I really want to ask this: please, allow us to do more than just 1 masterwork quest! It's just stupid that each player can get only 1 quest and can't get another until finished all that tasks.
I mean, even in big guilds, very few ppl wanna do mw tasks because is just an AD sink and time consuming... and if just 1% of the guild wanna do mw they can't progress unless spending a lot of ad into it.
After all that time with masterwork released, it's just ridiculous holding everyone's progression because some very few ppl don't want to see the prices of masterwork materials going lower and lower... Please allow players to accept more than just 1 masterwork task!

You can only do one mastercraft task in professions slots?

Well, it's not really a question of guild rank - although high-end guilds tend to attract more "high-end" players. Anyhow, it shouldn't be that hard on an alliance basis - the hardest task would be to find a good tank willing to run eSP (and a DC or two). Good GFs are in a short supply, but with that solved it should not be a big proble to put together a mSP party.
Hoping for improvements...

No, but mastercraft tasks require the mastercraft special tools - and you can only have one copy of each tool - which limits you to one mastercraft task in each profession.
Also, you really want a Mythic forgehammer for a better chance of success, and you can only have one copy of that - which kind-of means you only want to run one masterwork task at a time.

That's what I mean, we can only do 1 masterwork questline/tasks anytime. We can't choose to run 2 or 3 tasks, and I really dunno why...

ah...you are talking about masterwork quests? sorry, thought you were talking about the masterwork tasks themselves.
not quite masterwork but is there any guides, info pages or lists of great hall decor items that can be made in the different professions ,maybe mats needed for the different items and what events and vendors might have them?
getting real sick of having to scroll thru every profession..
My objection as stated above is not that a key ingredient is gated behind a dungeon ,but that 3 specific classes are gated behind a wildly unpopular dungeon, great weapon fighter/gaurdian fighter and devoted cleric armor ANd weapon AND off hand all require fartouched residuum that only drops in master spellplague(mSP).All other classes the key item drops in master svardborg(mSVA) (which everyone is running for the weapon/and offhand superior marks etc anyway) and FBI which lots are running for the relic armor. As a result the key item for crafting armor for all other classes is very cheap on the AH due to the voluume of players that want to run mSVA and FBI,noone wants to run mSP cause it takes 3 times longer than FBI. So esentially 3 specific classes are gated harder than any other, and thats unfair, not to mention that if your'e running those dungeons for relic gear then you have no interest in the items for crafting gear and vice versa those like myself that want to craft my gear have no interest in grinding dungeons for relic gear. I ground out the black ice gear and then ground daily to keep it topped up ....never doing that again and so never going to get/use relic armor. I believe the key crafting resources should drop in all 3 dungeons and not just one so thoose that want the crafting resource have some choice, right now there is no choice ,if youre GWF/GF/or DC you either grind mSP (good luck with that) or its going to cost over 1 million AD per fartouched residuum, and if you get the fartouched and the crafting fails you start all over again ...anouther million Ad.... or more as some items require 4 x fartouched !!!
The idea that you need a rank 20 guild to run Spellplague is absurd. Our guild (and rank 5) runs it regularly, and with characters in the 12-14K item level range. It only takes a small group of reasonably geared players to run it (and a good bit of practice to get past boss 2 ... who is a pain).
The real problem here is that even if you DO get a group for and DO get through Spellplague the drops are horrible and you are not likely to get Fartouched Residium or anything else of value for running the dungeon. My last run I got a peridot in the chest ...
They really need to change the name of that residium...just saying.

The Masterworks multiple professions is a response to a previous request months ago to have professions and tasks that ue the assets and resources from multiple professions. The D&D Wish Rule (1973) is fulfilled - "Be careful what you wish for, it may be granted in the worst manner possible."
It reminds me of a Public Policy Asst. Prof who said, on Friday September 7, 2001, "I hope we have something 'interesting' to discuss this term." The next Tuesday was 9/11. He got his wish.
Think the OP is right. Certain Masterwork professions and then also some recipes were always harder to obtain, seemingly for random reasons. I think in MW1 it was Samite or something that made CW armor way more expensive than others etc. And back in Mod 1/2 the weapon resources were rumored to have different drop rates and this could be backed up with AH prices as well.

Since the OP clearly doesn't have any commercial sense, let me explain how you do it. You make some for other people first on a commission basis. They provide the ingredients, your tip is what's left over. I only have MC2 artificing till this afternoon so I'll use manticore felt as an example and manti manes as I know the numbers. You get somebody to provide you with a manti mane and all the other raw ingredients. You explain the risks (you might get 1 felt but most of the time you get 5 etc), and you get your felt, you make their item and keep the excess. Eventually, you get enough felt to make what you want without having to get the dungeon drop item yourself.
minotaur2857Member, NW M9 PlaytestPosts: 1,141Arc User
Having actually made a decent number of items, the problem for me is this. Every single item I've made is cloth or leather (or a ring), all the metal items that require the residuum nobody wants me to make because it's too much of a financial risk. I can't afford to buy residuum and get one enamel out of it. Given that I just failed 7 75%s in a row (fortunately on cheap stuff) I just don't trust the RNG enough to gamble.
Rather than one enamel, I'd much prefer to get my fartouched residuum back with some of the other ingredients on a fail.
Actually people do run MSP. It's fun to run and if you have a team that knows what to do - it's really enjoyable. It's true that rewards are hamster, but the run itself is fun and entertaining. I never have problems with gathering people who want to run it.
Please, speak for yourself. If you find it unpopular it doesn't mean others do.
Well you want to BIS gear then you either stick with the farm or cough up the money. Fartouched residuum is expensive because there is huge demand for it like yourself and not everybody wants to farm it so you either wait for prices to fall down or grind it yourself
I also think that dungeon is the most lucrative right now.I have never heard people doing 10m+ in a day(since Mod 5-6 at least) with dungeon running.
