What is the biggest difference between the 2. pros and cons of both? I'm running a A.C. build but considering maybe switching to D.O for easier solo. Any info is appreciated I'm on xbox also. Thanks.
The primary difference between the two comes down to how active you are in doing the DC thing.
DO is easier to manage than AC (meaning, easier to run). DOs do not need to have a lot of gear to be effective, they only have HG (which is a simple fire and forget daily), Terrifying Insight is a nice passive buff which requires little attention other than party composition, and Brand of the Sun is a quick fire and forget Divinity builder.
To contrast, AC requires a lot more attention and active play. AA requies that you stack a lot of power on your character, AA requires you to pay attention to when and where you use it (you need to place it on your allies and their companions in addition to knowing when AA will be eaten up and when AA's burst buff will make a difference), and Blessings of Battle is more clunky to use than Brand.
Either way, both are huge assets for your team and you'd be hard pressed to go wrong with picking either one (unless your team already has one of each type of DC, which, in that case, there's very little reason for you to play yours).
Also, fully expecting @kolatmaster "why not both" meme/gif incoming, since loadouts will allow you to do both when it hits consoles.
Thank u rjc9000. I run an a.c. dc now and your right about being active and paying attention when in groups. Just running solo content like the river district and the changes to AA ive been thinking about going D.O. because it takes awhile to kill things I will probably wait for the new load outs but on xbox it's probably about 3 months behind pc.
If you are BIS, there is a benefit to staying AC for group content. Although there is also a benefit to having a DO even at that level, to have both AA/BoB and TI.
Below that, it comes down to preference. DO is more even in the buff as TI has 100% uptime. AA however still has protective value beyond the power buff but requires significant investment in gear to maintain with chains no longer providing AP in Divine mode.
DO has an edge in running Daily quests due to TI and Brand of the Sun, but is hardly necessary. An AC with 30%+ RI and a decent solo power setup/rotation can do any content that they have the gear to do, especially with the 30% damage buff.

Pitshade I'm not bis my il is around 3200 should be over 3500 after the db rp. But I think I will stay a.c. until we get load outs. Which hopefully be sooner rather than later thank you for your help

@rjc9000 is spot-on, as usual. Would add one caution about AC and DO loadouts. Because AC requires high base power to be optimal, you may have to do a lot of equipment and enchant swapping if your primary Loadout is RiDO... Unless you have two sets of relic armor and two sets of R12s. It can be done, but makes for awkward transitions and impatient teammates.

you can go RiDO without having high crit. In which case high power is still the way to go. Can even go RiDO with owlbear cub. Wouldn't require that much of a change. Just depends how you want to play
DO doesn't require Fire of the Gods to proc Bear Your Sins. Brand of the Sun does it automatically. High Crit is good for damage and healing, but unnecessary for buff/debuff. My build is still optimized for power/recovery and working fine.

the only benefit to using crit for fire of the gods is it makes it a passive. AOE skills like chains, divine glow, searing light can be used to paint mobs at the start of combat and quickly get Bear your Sins and Condemning Gaze stacked for a party dps increase of 25%. It's not required to have the crit but it may impact how you play a bit and even with a modest 33% crit chance you can get it going in combat within the first few seconds.

I meant to add that use of a DoT enchant (I use Plaguefire) has the same effect.
Essentially though, while loadouts benefit from each build being optimized, an AC masquerading as a DO still has Terrifying Insight and is more of a benefit to a party than having a second AC in the group. You don't need 2 sets of gear to gain some use of loadouts.

Yes, this shows a RiAC main/ RiDO secondary with max power would be more optimal then the reverse, as TI is completely independent of stats and enchants. I disagree with whoever said crit is not important for a RiDO loadout though. In solo play with RiDO, Trans vorpal and high crit/azure in offensive slots, putting out 20-30% more damage then with all radiants. Dailies are a breeze. But when I switch to RiAC mode I'm stuck with more crit then I need and not enough power. Hence my equipment dilemma. Guess I'll flip them.

well yeah, your going to get more dps if your using vorpal and crit than vorpal and power. But you can make a RiDO with a frost enchant, low crit, high power that's good. If your looking to max your dps, then yes vorpal or dread and high crit is probably the way to go.
I play a DO dc from the beginning - and I go for 100 % crit (with bondings) because the crits also heal. I don't go for personal DPS it's a side effect and because of that i play a Trancendent plague Fire.
to make sure not to die I play a legendary air archon but with only + 4 rings - so this way i can slot azures 12 in defense slots an get more defense. + 5 rings i use only on my char.
Because of the way I build my DC i would be a terrible AC DC with loadouts - so I with loadouts I make a pvp setup and a DO setup with other paragons to test - maybe a unkillable tank DC even for PVE
