Best companion for GWF; air or fire arch.

Can I have the community's thoughts on this, it seems I have both active but the air summoned, he procs quite often and when he dies he gets back up before his influence wears off . I have been seeing a lot of high damage dealing GWFs running with fire archon lately . and a popular high crit build on this sight recomends fire. Any suggestions or arguments for both sides would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Since no one else has posted I guess I'll weigh in. Lemme preface this by saying i'm not a gwf, so i can only speak to what i've seen.

Every GWF in my guild and every 4k+ GWF i know runs a fire archon as summoned companion and air archon as active.

The only people i see running air archons are HRs and GWFs that are being carried through dungeons.

I hit up a GWF I know is pretty good, he is going to try to catch you when you are both on and he can give you some tips and guidance.

Yeah, every one I play with, no matter their class, when speaking in terms of damage dealt use him as a water mark. Lol, like "oh dude I'm doing like half of *insert name*'s damage now! So stoked. " Lol, he's a legend.

I would like to point out that if a gwf is being carried through a dungeon it's not because they use an air archon instead of a fire archon. That's a build issue. I went with an air archon for two reasons. It seems to build stacks of comraderie faster and I could make a necklace with jewelry crafting. It's a melee pet though which may die more than a fire archon.

Edit: I could make a 2 slot necklace as opposed to a one slot talisman for the fire archon. Though the new illusionists gambit offers a 2 slot talisman if you're lucky enough.

Yes,
. I got my +4 ring on a bronze with two offensive slots. My understanding that the +5 rings are a gold only award and gold tends to drop the +4 gear more often.

I have a maxed gwf that beats everyone. Use air archon because it is more likely to receive AA than fire archon.

No one even asked if it's about summoned or active companion? As active Air is definitely better. And as summoned I'm surprised nobody even mentioned Con Artist/Sellsword. Since GWF is a king of single target, Consumed by Battle debuff would provide more damage, wouldn't it?

I have con artist but not sell sword. Light foot theif tho. Those r active but I was really asking about summoned, air or fire, sticking with air for now as I can't get a good talisman drop for fire archon from IG
