Is there a cap on arcanic focus drops?

I have been trying to farm arcanic focus in order to restore my new dagger. After running 20+ dig sites without a drop, I suspect I am wasting my time. Some one in chat mentioned that there was a cap of 3 per day. If this is true then I should get the 2 from the daily and quit doing dig sites after the first drop.

    Today my luck has changed. Just got 3 arcanic focus from 5 dig sites.

    I just found out there is a bug if multiple people try to loot the dig at the same time. It may not drop arcanic focus. That explains the problem I had yesterday.

    RNG is what Cryptic uses to troll the playerbase.
    Definitely not an Arc User.

    Rng -random number generator
    Works like this
    When you open a chest it rolls a random number let's say 1-100
    If the roll is 1-40 you get magic
    If the roll is 41-70 you get fey blood
    If the roll is 71-80 you get tainted soil
    If the roll is 81-99 you get reclaimed treasures and dust
    And if you roll 100 you get an arcane focus
    (These are not actual numbers or items and is for demonstration purposes only ) lulz

    RNG does not like me at all on the arcane magic writings. I have not gotten one, with doing 5-6 ships daily, for about 4 days.

    Have you tried doing dig sites?

    Were you replying to Rick? I think AMWs don't drop from digs (despite the misleading help text in the game)

    Yes, I have never seen one drop from digsites, only from the campaign task, the cipher quest, map chests and the HEs, with the HEs and the campaign task being the most reliable. With the change to arcanic focus, I have way more than I need, as in, I already have my offhand and still have enough to do a set of weapons. Just need the amw for the mainhand.

    Definitely no cap. I had 21 on Thursday after getting my mainhand, so needed another 19 to get my offhand. Had very limited playtime this weekend (sucks since it was double RP..) -- enough time to do the daily on saturday and basically no time on sunday due to hosting Easter.

    I settled in for a long grind on friday evening, and cycled in other party members as-needed so that I'd always have someone who could start the ladders. Ran probably 60 or 70 digs, but got 15 in a single session not counting Friday's daily, which means I was able to get my offhand Saturday morning from running the daily.

    We should change Random Number Generator to Random Integer Generator because I think RIG looks and sounds better than RNG. B)
