Hi,
I stoped the game from the 2 last mods, and came back for Cloaked Ascendancy. I absolutely don't want to obtain Storm weapon, and so i look for having one of the new weapons. I have an hesitation between Aboleth and Mirage. My aim is to have the best for dps (CW thunder 3.3k).
Aboleth set effect seems to be clear in its description, but not the Mirage.
For this weapon, we summon 3 illusions of ourself,
"though results may vary". First, what does it mean, sometimes more, sometimes less? Something else? And how work these summons, do they attack, using our stats (lol), are they efficients, could them die??
Many questions on this Mirage who make me hesitate... if someone have or know and can help me to make a choice, it could be a pleasure
.
Thank you and sorry for my "basic english".

Have a good game !
Just 1% less dps but improved AP gain and healing.
The mirage weapon is designed for PVP against tanks.
The Aboleth is designed as an alternative to the Relic weapon for DPS.
The Fortified is designed for DPS style tanks as you get 10% of your Defense as power.
If you have 20K defense you get a 2k boost in your power.
I really don't see a weapon there that screams pick me if you use the Drowned Set as a tank.
For my DC, I see the Fey as a very good replacement to my Burning. For my CW, I definitely see myself going after the Aboleth.
The mirage I would use if I played a Rogue or HR.
I think getting 2 unlocks (reduced store costs) is best.
I feel that Mirage is more for PVP due to the buff it provides against temp HP and shield blocking. Making tanks ability to reduce damage pretty pointless against players with Mirage weapons.
As for the other weapons, they seems more setup for PVE for the various roles.
I think the devs did this on purpose with these weapons.
I just wish the LifeForge weapon had a healing mechanic instead of a 5% increase in defense.
I know the mirages die easily - but while they are up do they have the same powers/boons as your character? I have an experiment I'm thinking of running down the road with them
Ravenskya - TR / Krisha Chaos - OP / Waffles - GF / Dex Domitor - HR
Becky the trendy GWF - GWF / Too Toasty - SW / Falcor - DC / Morrigan - CW / Sir Didymus - OP

And people are brain-dead too. There were a few runs where I was top DPS by far, so I let the group know I was leaving bronze or no bronze. Many times, they would still go for gold. I left them to fail at silver, everyone walking away with nothing.
I mean, you have both +2% damage and -2% incoming damage active ALL THE TIME while with Aboleth you need to proc it with an encounter, then you have +4% damage for 10 seconds every 30 seconds which on average is like 1,34%.
Of course Aboleth still has other features (Life Steal, DOT and explode corpses), but as far as i know none of these are strong enough to justify its use.
