Simply put it's a weekly competition that starts every Monday and ends on the following Monday and starting a new. *Account-wide, means they'll have to link collections to one general collections.

What players are likely to see appear as weekly competitions, mind you more than one will be active a week.

  • Treasure from Maps found
  • Dungeons ran
  • Fish caught
  • Class IL (may pick multiple a week)
  • Collections Score
  • Kills
  • Heals
  • Damage Dealt
  • Heroics completed
  • Astral Diamonds made
  • Absorbed damage
  • Profession tasks completed
  • Donated to SH

Brackets may consist of the following, you may be given multiple rewards the higher rank you are.
25k
10k

This might be cool, but I have a feeling that most people would lose interest rather quickly. The average players would not be able to compete with the "time rich" players. When you have people who can put 40+ hours a week to dedicate to the game, those with a couple hours a day would not have a chance. You would soon see the same names on the leader boards week after week and others would give up even trying to compete.

I like the idea and believe there is enough ingame content for it to be viable, I'm just not sure it would work. The devs would have to embrace it and they may have too much on their plates already to do this plan justice. As in what content counts vs what doesn't? How are the scoreboards set? What are the rewards?

These are very basic concepts that would have to be considered before flushing them out in detail. Then we deal with the backlash. Then we all decide what we want to participate in. If coal wards were a reward, I definitely would participate in whatever that weekly event is, even pvp.

Again, I appreciate the thought put into it.

This game doesn't need any more leaderboards, too many people already use the current leaderboards to stroke their own egos.
    Guild: Ruthless
    Character: Vendetta

Its not really meant for ego's since it resets every week, nothing stays except for the reward you earn. Ive seen it work in other games and no one really mentions the event or how good they are doing within them, since there just after the rewards after all. :P

Aye thats why I said the brackets "may consist of..." Not every challenge is going to be bracketed the same every time it pops up, I'm very doubtful if there's five challenges going of that week that you'll see the same few names on each challenge that'll be way to much work for a certain player to handle, they may focus on one and do the other one passively throughout the week. Only time you'll see similar names are for the IL's, but bravo to them who achieved it, the only way you can benefit from the class IL one is if ya have all the classes practically maxed, which is very very unlikely even for an end-game player. :P
