Hey I'm new to this Mmo and was wondering if like most mmos can I get good/great/epic gear from dungeons / instances or raids. That is if this game has them ? Any advice on this would be great. Thank you

Yeah, you can get gear from leveling dungeons. Those start at level 12. I do recommend doing at least 2 dungeons a day, every day.
My opinions are my own. I do not work for PWE or Cryptic. - Forum Rules - Protector's Enclave Discord - I play on Xbox Any of my comments not posted in orange are based on my own personal opinion and not official. You can also check the auction house, just look for things no less than 2 levels below yours and always go for blue gear. Most of the time items go for less than 500AD and you should upgrade your gear every 5 levels.

Pickup the blues off the ground as you play. Id them if they're for your class/neck belt rings. Wear them until you find better stuff. Stats from 1-60 don't really matter too much. Roughly you want gear of the level your character is.
From 60-70 the game doles out rewards gear. Always wear the newer stuff as you're getting into the harder areas. Its meant to gear you towards lostmauth/shores/kessels/valindras/malabogs/and the level 70 zones.
Then start going for the 135 item level gear. Then the purple gear then dragon flight maybe or relic gear or if you do vip just hit 70 and go straight dusk until you figure out your stats and how you want them. Save your respec tokens you'll probably need them at level 70
I just did my first dungeon and got no gea it was rubbish ...
You got your free daily dungeon key from the guy in the enclave to open the treasure chest at the end, right?
There is always something decent in there. Plus you'll have started earning AD from running the dungeon which you can use to buy decent guy from the trade house.
The stuff you want to buy first is called Ensorcelled Mulhorand, you can get a cloak & the two weapons all of which scale with you as you level up.
Mulhorands have become really expensive of late but depending on your class you may find something in your price range.
Moogie is right about running the dungeons (and skirmishes) for your level, you need as much AD as possible. I've usually bought straight from the Auction House as the blue gear tends to be a bit better than the majority of drops you'll get from the levelling zones - I mean, the gear on the AH comes from those same zones but your chances of getting a good piece aren't overly high.

Leveling gear drops from nearly everything you can kill or open and while you might not be getting that one piece you are looking for, it is almost always available on the trade house for cheap cheap, like 500 AD +/-. You wont need too much beyond what drops from mobs but if you want to feel OP during leveling, hit the trade house for the blue gear.
Guilds might be an option if you're not already in one. Most have some basic gear in the vault, and even if its just the basics it might help you save on what you'd spend buying them so you can get specific stuff easier.
I'm building one at the moment that I intend to start with lower level characters and new players, and am building up some basic gear to give to members, Stuff like some companions and mounts that are fairly basic but better than the ones in PE. (Green Blink dogs and Green Frozen Galeb Duhr and the like...) Plus some good stuff as rewards for contribution and promotion. I've bought a stack of Legacy Artifact Belts and Necks for when folk hit 60... that sort of thing.
It's a way off being ready to start running as a proper guild, cos I want a couple more structures, and those Stronghold Starter Packs don't come cheap...
He's in Casual Dailies - they are also in the guild recruitment section

What's your guild called I'm looking for one to help me level faster
It's The Royal Scouts, but I'm still setting it up. If you want to join early and get a foot in the door, pm me in game @MordekaiThurloe. Not got loads yet, but L60 artifact gear, R7 enchants and a few companions are available. I'm a bit annoyed that the Sharandar legacy cloak (Seladrine) is BtC on PICKUP. So I can't stock up on those. All the others are BoE. Though I'm more annoyed at myself for buying a couple before realising that fact...

Just let him play the zones and use the gear in the zones.
It will make him a better player, and he'll learn more about his toon than using a pay to play guide.
