I've just come back to the game after a break of a few months and I can't access the rough diamonds got through invocation, they just don't show up in the inventory - have I missed a patch somewhere & do they show up somehwere else now?

You no longer get rAD from invoking. You get a bonus to rAD earned through other means.

Weekly quests for each of the campaigns, run dungeons and skirmishes, salvage stuff. They wanted people to actually earn them through playing the game rather than through logging on to invoke and then immediately log off.

If you invoke, you will get AD bonus. You have an AD bonus pool. When you earn rough AD in any mean, you will withdraw additional 50% of what you earned from the pool. The cap of the pool is 100000.
e.g. if your AD bonus pool has 2000, you run a dungeon to earn 3000 rough AD. You will earn 4500 rough AD and the pool drops to 500. If you run a dungeon again to earn 3000 rough AD, you will get 3500 rough AD and the pool becomes 0.
