Is there away to make icy terrain not cover the red attacks of mobs? any video setting or whatnot you can change to not get those awesome surprise deaths by a covered red attack?

No, because spells have their own float/gravity levels (noticeable on the stairs) and it appears as if Icy Terrain floats just tiny bit above the ground, and the red circle tint is below (it kisses the ground basically) the animation for the Icy Terrain.
It's been a longtime nuisance for many, many people. You just learn to be extra careful when you see that there's Icy Terrain on the ground.

Ha, no kidding. I died just the other day in eLoL because someone accidentally hit icy terrain just at the midpoint of the boss fight... hard to pick up those little red circles of falling rock, in the pentagon in the center, when Icy Terrain is covering the whole thing. :)

I personally never had an issue with visibility with IT, except in Sva were nothing on floor renders if there's IT (only occasionally though)... Try disabling Dynamic Lighting maybe...

Well it wasn't because of me then. Nearly got everyone killed this morning. It's a habit to have it slotted. Also got squashed by the first boss cause of it.

Or when in those situations be sure to put Icy Terran in Mastery and cast it away from you so you can clearly see the ground as well as those around you. :)<3 Or could by dynamic lighting issue as another suggested...

Icy Terrain in mastery is a waste of a good Mastery slot. Please do not gimp yourself with such a move. Sure it is neat, but novelty is not very efficient.

That's a negative Ghostrider, we can't afford to go into battle half cocked and punch drunk. Whiskey drunk is fine though, encouraged even.

What was I talking about again?

I tried IT in eLOL and I saw the red just fine. No idea what you are all saying that it blocks the red. Tried it in PoM and Throne, again, red areas were visible. This is of course on the PS4. Maybe it is a PC issue.

At least in svardborg and egwd it is making it difficult. Never using it in elol. At least not in boss fights.

You can still see the telegraphed areas through Icy Terrain, are you placing it directly on top of the tank or something?

The only "ice drops" that make SVA difficult are the ones peeps drop when marked instead of moving out of group and dropping the ice outside the group. Icy terrain on the other hand is not an issue.

Yea, only in sva when you get ice on top of ice, they are harder to see, but they are still visual. Egwd is worse. I had to remove IT completely the other day. Reds were hardly visible at all.
