Trade Unused/Idle Companions for Companion Upgrade Tokens?

At the Emporium companion vendor. Could also have that vendor sell the epic two-enchantment slot companion only gear that was once available through Sword Coast Adventures. Unless there is a plan to actually have us be able to use our idle companions again in some way.

That's a great idea, I hate just discarding pets I don't have room for.
No idea what my toon is now.

Makes perfect sense, and honestly should have been offered day 1. Could use the same process as upgrading profession people even. 4 Whites for a green. 4 greens for a blue. 4 blues for a purple, 4 purples for a legendary.

Trading for companion tokens would be good to, especially since they seem to be going toward making them drops.

That could work, but with the price of some epic companions on the AH, you might as well just pay the 1 mil AD to upgrade. If you mean that you'd need 4 of the same exact companion to upgrade it. So, trading companions for upgrade tokens might be better, that way you wouldn't need to worry about which companion you were trading. Maybe common companions worth 1-5, uncommon 10, rare 20, and epic 30 tokens.

Common shouldn't give any tokens, otherwise upgrading would effectively just cost gold.

Yes, I thought about that. But if Common companions only earned 1 upgrade token, it would cost a lot of gold. I'm fine with not being able to trade in common companions though.

**Edit** Just throwing this out there. At a certain point in progression, you don't need to spend your gold on much. Might be nice to make gold more useful. 2 gold for 1 companion upgrade token? (if you were buying the common companions and trading them) Or forget about trading in the common companions and just be able to buy 1 companion upgrade token for say 5 gold straight out. Not necessary, however, just brainstorming.

Well I honestly don't think you'll see a common companion upgrade to uncommon (green) for just 2 gold. If they did release a companion upgrade token it likely be found in a lockbox and certainly not for as little as 2 gold.

Still I would like to see them reduce the price of the companions in the Wonderous Bazaar by 50% as the prices as just insanely pricey as are the mounts especially given the cost you can acquire a rare or even very rare mount on the auction house. :)

Also since common companions can be easily purchased for a little gold from inside PE you'd like not see turning those in result in upgrade token's either. But I'd welcome 5 uncommon (green) being able to upgrade another green (has to be same quality of those making the sacrifice) to rare but beyond that you'd require AD to upgrade further.
