Game needs more fashion

etelgrinetelgrin Member Posts: 1,611 Arc User
it really does! My main is SW and nearly all warlock gear is designed for sado maso lovers - head gears in particular, I guess one of the devs is a fan of such acts but c'mon, we need some versatility some real occult - evil looking gear for the darn warlock. Most of the armors have same models, most of the pact blades are copies of TRs daggers put on some real evilish wands, skulls, demonic thingies, you know

I feel you, take the GF and OP headsets they are not that great i think you have a choice of a frying pan faceplate or a dragon or horse top. No helmet in the game looks like the 'icon' for the most part, you look at the mentioned classes helms in crafting and see one that has horns on the sides similar to the gwf helms and nope you get one that looks like there is a freaking dragon or what not coming off the top most of the time I am using the lowest ones to alter appearance that has not faceplate at all but still i am disappointed that the icons look nothing like the actual style but hey guess that is why they have the preview. I also wish there was more options for the fashion side to change the look of the characters...similar to the cult of the dragon set, injured survivor and so on. I would have loved to get the south sea set but yea I never have close to the ad to get it lol

People have been asking for more fashion since beta. The devs missed the boat on this one. They dont seem to understand the crazy amounts of money people spend on fashion. Probably another thing bots would have a hay day with and have to be removed anyway.

They already removed fashion. You cant buy any of it in the Zen store anymore. They even removed all the dyes as well.

Now you gota gamble for it. And hope you get enough trade bars to get what you want.

So, it seems to me, that fashion wasnt selling well at all. So they, most likely, felt they can make more money instead from key sales.

I want footprint effects, you know, like when you walk through HG you can see footprint effects, I want something like that.

One thing they could to that would enable massively more options would be to enable cross class transmutes. I dunno why they don't/cant since it retains the original stats and equipment and changes only the look. I would love to wear various bits and bobs from different classes. Maybe a GWF wearing heavy GF/OP armor (the look anyway) because I want him too. A OP wearing a SW set because it looks good, or maybe just a mask from a TR or something. I can dream eh? I would also love to see them do something similar to what was done for the elemental weapons and have skins for the Twisted and Stronghold mainhands and offhands. What if I transmuted my shield and decide I want the baboon back? Guess I have to farm a new shield then.

I would love for @rotters to show his SW look so you can all see how much correct this is. :)

Letting classes transmute gear into the look of other classes is a good start, but they will definitely need more in the clothes section as well as more slots per section just like armor because people love to mix and match.

Don't believe me? Google up Fashionsouls. That's not even for an mmorpg.

The other problems NWO faces in comparison are:
    a) the fashion tab is not the armor tab. Because I want/have to upgrade my gear regularly, I prefer sitting in the armor tab to make things go faster. Might seem like a minor usability issue but it's the main reason I don't stay in my fashion gear. Ideally they get rid of the fashion tab altogether and just merge it into armor.

    b) the characters in NWO are highly dependent on what they wear, to the point that we are heroic hat stands. The hat and the clothes are the hero. Take that away and how well do we fare? Heck, there are some dungeons we can't even enter without strong enough hats and clothes! In comparison, the folks at Fashionsouls wear the gear regardless of the stats because the character skills and more importantly player ability, can more than make up for it.

Mind you I haven't tried a weapons only patrol in Cold Run. I suppose it will be very interesting. Better get those medkits ready!

I'd just like to be able to wear a tunic and breeches. We have no commoner or tradesman fashion that I can think of. Maybe I just want to look like a regular townsperson.

I hate that while gear is piecemeal fashion is shirt, hat, pants. I'll see a fashion piece that's part awesome, part not ("Ooh, awesome boots, the pants suck though..."). I wish there was no fashion. I wish all the fashion designs were made as transmutes for gear. That, or I wish that weapons didn't disappear when fashion is toggled on. I can't use fashion on my OP, GF, or GWF for this reason. Don't want to store Greataxes, spears, shields etc. in Hammerspace, having them appear only when attacking. Also hate that they vanish when mounted.

My DC could use some acid-wash jeans and a plaid flannel shirt. Nurturing a 90's grunge vibe.

Headband. I want my headband (think Rambo/Ryu/Snake style headband).

Or bandanna. I'm open to bandannas (think something like Marcus Fenix bandanna).

If either have long tail-ends, they need to flow in the breeze or move whenever your characters attacks/moves, ala the scarves.
