Key Binds, WASD, trying to type a sentence in chat all BROKEN

So I can't dodge roll backwards.. Shift+S is broken. I re-keyed this stupid streaming HAMSTER to CTRL+P to get rid of it but still key dirs are all backwards.

I tried to ask in my guild chat wtf was going on but on the 3rd word or something it erases everything you type..
I had to type single words and send.. and even that was 80% success.

WHAT THE HAMSTER Did you guys do? You seriously want me to spend money this weekend?
This is where your efforts have gone? What about Foundry? New PVP maps? Fixing storage?

Seriously. Your priorities are messed guys. Sorry, someone has to call you out. Keep "fixing" what isn't broken.

    That sounds like it could be a hardware issue. Is something wrong with your keyboard? Can you try using a different one?

    Shot in the dark: I had issues like this because of using [ctrl] + some key and having [ctrl] get stuck in the "on" or "pressed" state when I entered the unbelievably obtrusive and stupid streaming UI. Afterwards, my chatting was all sorts of broken (because it was behaving as if I was holding down [ctrl] while I was typing).

    I was able to get out of it by holding [ctrl] while activating and then closing the stream UI /overlay and then releasing [ctrl] once I was back in the game proper. Took a few attempts which amounted to randomly jumping in an out of the stream UI and [shift]+[tab] overlay while holding or releasing [ctrl].

    Then I needed to change the shortcut key for the streaming UI to something other than the incredibly poorly thought through [shift]+[s]. The problem didn't resurface.

    Maybe something similar? Or possibly not.

    PS: I can't believe that this got through QA. It's almost as if they did this on purpose as some sort of HAMSTER-backwards way of advertising this feature. I guess it's pretty par for the course for PWE not do any real UAT on these kinds of changes.

    Edited for clarity, and to include the fact that I also changed my Streaming UI shortcut for the problem to go away. Thanks for the prompt @ilithyn

    @kreatyve It might be hardware but I had the exact same issue before I reset that new Arc Streaming thing to another keyboard short cut than Shift+S.
    Dailies was affected and if I did hit Shift+S and brought up the Arc Social interface my character would autowalk backwards. Only fix for that was to hit T, to autowalk forward for a bit which ended it. ANd backwards autowalk made me run in circles if I tried ANYTHING to control it, using either mouse or W,A,S,D.

    Setting the short cut to the Arc Streaming nonsense to something OTHER than Shift+S removed all these issues. Not saying OPs couldn't be hardware related, just that I had the exact same issues and that they obviously weren't or they would be persisting even now.

    That Streaming thing royally effed up some stuff in the game if it's active I'm telling ya.

    Just piling on. You can't even type a capital S in chat without frakking up the daily and artifact keybinds. This is royally intellectually challenged.

    I had the Same issue you can fix it by pressing
    1. Shift + 's
    2. Arc should load
    3. Click setting in arc
    4. Look at option #3
    5. Click option number 3 and bind the arc menu to ctrl + 12
    6. Now exit arc menu and press
    Shift a few times to clear the shift lock
    7. Enjoy the game

    Marigold the shredder came up with that key to bind

    @demonmonger I think you mean ctrl+F12. It may have been shift+F12 actually. Can't remember now as I have no plans on pulling up that menu ever again unless I have to.

    For everyone else reading, I had same issue and ended up with my keyboard binds including default ones hogtied when I tried to change which keys the streaming menu was bound to.

    My keyboard was so screwed up that I could not port to a different location using vip, type a complete word, move with any key besides d, or interact with objects using f. My custom binds also had a field day triggering when I tried to do just about anything at all. I tried to go to options to reset some of my binds and every time I tried to re-asign a key, instead of entering the key I pressed as the new bind, it would enter weird combinations like ctrl+[+a, shift+key, ctrl+shift+key, or other bizarre combinations.

    I typed in /unbind_all repeatedly which did not appear to work so I started /unbinding every single key manually with limited success. I gave up and logged out for a bit, all my customized keybinds were removed when I came back in and thankfully everything appeared to be reset to default.

    To confirm what key ARC messes up, bring up NW without using ARC to check. Then, you should know if it is hardware or ARC.
