Demon Lords' Immortality set viable for CW?

I'm curious about the opinions and findings of the great minds that hang around the library as to the viability of the Demon Lords' Immortality set for the CW. I've found conflicting recommendations. Perhaps those more enlightened than myself could share their information?

Edit: I don't know how I missed it in my hunt, but I think I found my answer here. I am still interested in hearing from anyone with experience using the Orcus set, or @thefabricant and @ironzerg79 even if they haven't, since they're geniuses <3.

Not as great for DPS CWs as it is for the TRs/GWFs/GFs.

I recall Sharp once said it grants around a 6% DPS boost (don't quote me, you're better off getting Edgy @thefabricant to answer this)

The set bonus definitely makes you deal more damage, but the set bonus is a scaling damage bonus. Ie, you only do more damage when there's a HP difference between you and your target.

The problem is, this only occurs if you're at high HP and you opponent is low on HP. Or inversely, if you're at low HP and your opponent has a lot of HP. In the former situation, you will likely finish off your enemy really quickly anyways, and in the latter, you will likely die if not extremely careful (and remember, a downed/dead CW cannot deal any damage).

Also, consider that Orcus set forces you to take Deflect, which is full of lolbad for PvE. It also forces you to take the Orcus artifact, which costs a lot of dosh and has lolbad stats for PvE. Lastly, the ability scores (STR/CON) are practically useless for a CW, who would make better use of belts which use of stuff with +INT.

Overall, you're better off taking gear which has no set bonus, but better passive stats (which would likely be Losty/Blice Cloak with Val Belt and artifacts of your choice).

Due to the poor stat allocation, it's generally recommended to stick with the Lostmauth Neck and the Valindra belt.

That's the direction I was leaning. Thanks for easing my mind about the decision!

Slow your roll! In the newest content, enemies have a nice slow death. Letting the demon lords set bonus reach closer to 9-10% average damage potential.

Obviously in old content, where trash (and even bosses sometimes!) go from 75% to instantly dead, the set under performs.

I don't have ACT logs as I'm on Xbox, but I would like to see some from PC on FBI and new skirmish comparing the 2 options. I would suspect the numbers are roughly the same.....but you would gain 2600 in defensive stats with Demon set.

Recently I have started using this set on my CW. The belt and necklace do provide crit (useful) as well as deflect (less useful for PvE, but nice to have for PvP). The belt's ability score boosts are definitely not optimal for a CW (+2 Str and +2 Con) are almost useless. The Con bonus adding 4% of your base HP (so around 800 HP - barely even noticeable). The artifact when maxed out gives +1000 power (useful), +1000 movement (pretty much useless) and +600 AoE Resist (pretty much useless).

Without having really done a lot of hardcore number crunching on the set, my experience has been it seems to be adding in the area of 3-5% to may damage for most stuff. For dailys, mobs tend to die with one rotation, so the first encounter gets no bonus, the second a few percent, the third perhaps 5 percent. If they live long enough for a 4th encounter power maybe it's getting 10% plus. Harder targets like Giants and the like make the set much more useful as they tend to linger longer at the half health range.

By way of comparison, a Greater Belt of Intelligence would add a consistent 4% to damage from the +4 Int bonus at legendary.

The one place I do really notice a difference with the set is during boss fights, where I do see a noticeable increase in damage as the boss's health gets lower and lower. I'm not sure it ever really gets to 20%, but tis is certainly where the set shines. Unfortunately, single target damage on a boss isn't exactly where most CWs shine ...

Over all I think the cost of the set in less than optimal stats and abilities makes the set less effective for PvE than a straight Greater belt if Intelligence and whatever neck and artifact you want.

This is the way to go, almost every endgame CW I know, including myself, use this setup.
