It was nice having 2x Guild Marks event running during the Siege of Neverwinter event. Very beneficial to all guilds that had players earning vouchers in a far less stale fashion. It was sort of fun racing others around the instance to kill even the most insignificant mob for the chance at a voucher. Wanted to say thanks for aligning the two up. Also Quartermaster Enchantments were a long time coming looking forward to the future there. I know there have been changes to them prior but they seem quite handy.

    +1 on that!

This combination of events not only let me get my first piece of dragonflight armor, I was also able to make enough AD to buy a Battlefield medic, bc I figured the RNG on it was going to mean I'd never see it and I didn't want to see the price skyrocket once the market was once again the only way to get one... then I lucked out and got one the first and only time so far that I got enough medals to try for one, so I immediately flipped it and made back the AD plus a little extra. (Those of you who are good at timing the Neverwinter market are probably not able to decide whether I was a fool for not waiting or a lucky fool for having my impatience rewarded... or probably both.)

Also, when doing this event in the future, I really hope that they please please please do not take away the Master of Coin quest that lets you get a bunch of defense supplies for all of 2 minutes' worth of scavenger-hunting around the stronghold. Special thanks for this quest from we who do not have the patience or time to grind HEs for a chance at doing well enough for a medal, nor the patience to wait for several days' worth of siege encounter crafting. I can get most of the way to being able to donate enough supplies for a medal, so that I'm pretty guaranteed to get one, maybe 2 medals a day with that quest plus one round of supplies crafting.

I found that to be very pleasant as well. I like that they are starting to line things up in a logical order, double enchants before double refinement. It is refreshing to see a little logic and player advancement being considered.

Im pretty new at playing this so can you explain the benefits of being in or starting a guild?
  • zman81420zman81420 Member Posts: 972 Arc User
Well @thelindgren#6683 the perks of being in a guild are as follows.
    1. People to play with, build a relationship with, grow a guild up together or join an existing.
    2. Boons which provide at least the highest incentives for joining. These are huge stat boosters for all players in the guild.
    3. Some of the best gear, weapons ect are purchased through guild strongholds upon being at appropriate levels.
    4. The biggest perk is definetly #1 and #2.

I'll also add that it's possible to be part of a guild, and do right by them, while skipping the social aspect altogether.

When i do the occasional dragon run with them I follow instructions on when to start/stop of course, and sometimes join in if someone calls for extra ppl on guild or alliance chat. But most of the time I'm just doing my own thing and my benefit from the guild is the variety that the various guild quests provide, plus the gear and the daily item withdrawals I can do from the guild (which at this point i usually just flip for AD).

I try to do right by the guild by donating surplus equipment and gems, and occasional runs to get other specific resources. For example, they were close recently on levelling one of their buildings and just needed 35 gold and several thousand gems. The gems I couldn't do much with, but the gold I handled single-handedly (didn't feel like grinding for gold, so I paid for stacks of treasures in astral diamonds in the auction house, sold the treasures to one of the guild vendors for gold, contributed the gold to the guild).

Do they have like special dungeons or skirmishes that you can run only through the guild...and whats the stronghold?

No real separate content except quests around the stronghold or to explain your guild castle and lands. It's own separate instance

Dungeons / skirmishes: One of the longer-term attractions of being in a guild is doing the Greed of the Dragonflight guild event. (Which you can think of as like a skirmish, but it's only happening in your guild / its allied guilds, and rather than queuing like for skirmishes and dungeons one of your guildies just starts the event when enough people are ready.)

If your guild has enough people doing it, and coordinating well, you can get the Fang of the Dragonflight that is one of the 3 needed currencies to buy dragonflight armor, which is among some of the best armor in the game.

Guilds often coordinate multiple runs on this on say every Sunday morning or some other once a week time. Guilds often look around on guild or alliance chat for people to go into a queue together for the other standard dungeons and skirmishes too.

Stronghold: It's a location like any other you can travel to. At its most basic, you can buy/sell some basic items same as any standard vendor, check mail, get quests that you can do to earn vouchers (that you turn in for guild marks which you can then use to buy specialty food, armor and overload enchantments). After a couple of stronghold upgrades you'd be able to salvage items there too. The stronghold also has access to the bank for storing items, a coffer for withdrawing a certain number of items / money per day, a place for donating money/gems/influence/surplus equipment/surplus laborers to gain guild marks. Strongholds also provide boons for their members.

Best advice is the search tab. I find it more enjoyable to delve into myself and ask questions later.

Just picked up the "Charger" on my GF and decided to use it as the mount skin...
    CHARGER???????
It trots along like that bloody Prancing Pony from the Jubilee. Even using 110 speed bonus...
So much for it looking like my GF is "Charging" into battle.
    Poor animal looks positively constipated.

    Good insignia bonus though...
