Fail rates are too high for SH tier 2 Crafters and too costly.

paid 3k SH mark for elite rare materials for scroll gathering, i am doing weaponsmith tier 2 task to collect sands, i have other basic purple tools, but still end up in 80% in tier 2 and less chances in tier 3 with 20%, it eat up 3 each time, and if lucky, we get 1 sand back, looks like WE ARE LOSING ON EACH TRIES!

oh yeah, "LET GO BACK" to SH and redo and rebuilt on marks, HUH!?

that's really blows it is not worth time to investing only to be fail again and again..

i have all the purple crafters and purple tools, except those newer elite tools.

once again, that RNG wins for the HOUSE (cryptic) and screws players again, it seem devs love to see them going back to redo and broke dirt poor again.

and you cannot even BUY elite tier - if RNG does not shine out your HAMSTER, tough luck.

I have said it before, ALL purple level craftsmen and tools should = 100% success, otherwise it is an insult to all craftsmen and their tools.

Might is not always right - the powerful sometimes forget that.

You CAN get Orange tools. Also, the Forgehammer of Gond at Legendary or Mythic levels will help out too. Masterwork professions were designed to be rough, and not for everyone.

Apparently you should be able to get them, I know some VERY serious crafters and none of them have ever seen one and we've probably opened many thousands of boxes that could contain them. I've yet to meet anybody who believes they actually exist.

Forgehammer of gond at mythic gives 55% instead of 40 so takes the 20% up to 35%.

They exists, there are a bunch on the AH. And the first crucibles traded hands long time ago.

To the OP: Until you unlock the profession it's 20% or 35% with a gond, after you unlock the last quest (and get the purple MW tool), it's regular 60% or 75% with the gond.

If you don't have Forgehammer, I say don't bother to start. I have one but it is in the wrong toon. I got it from Winter festival (I think) and it was bound to character. All the serious MW crafters I know have one. Even with that, the RNG can still suck.

When I got mine, my comment was I was blessed and I was cursed. I decided not to go forward with that route.
I decided not to allow the game to frustrate me that I know it will for sure happen many times down that road.

I've got part way through Mastercraft Jewellery - having refined gold into nuggets at a 20% success, the npc took the 12 I'd made and gave me the next quest of making gold ingots - at 20% chance but using 2 nuggets at a time. That's 20% on top of the previous 20% meaning I have a 4% success rate when making from scratch.

    That's just pathetic.

If you have the guild boon to give double ingredients on map drop the failure rate and loss of ingredients is not so gready on cryptic and very fair

i have that guild boon, doesnt seem enough, need to repeat same map for 3 more times, it need 6 blooms by 12 sands total if succeed.

Yeah, they're all upwards of 50M which indicates just how rare they are, you can have 3 or 4 forgehammers for that price.

Last I checked there were 3 orange tools on the AH, all alchemy (but not crucible). They were 75 ma ma ma MILLION ADs.

No big surprise though, they're hidden behind 3 layers of RNG, 2 at best, so the chance of getting one is pretty slim. I imagine your more like to get a legendary mount than a legendary tool by a good margin.

RNG must die, i am fine with lockboxes having some RNG, that was it, nowhere else in the game. sick of RNG in everything we played. we are suppose to play RPG, not casino online.

Pathetically low rng in crafting is moronic - especially as all the gear becomes obsolete so fast!
