Hi all,
So I am completely new to the game and a newb, looking for some answers.
I took my time to learn the basics and played around with all the different classes.
I now want to take this experience to the next level and max-out one of the 4 classes I leveled. (Lvl 65: gf,gwf, HR and Tr).
With the upcoming MOD 10 and my lack in experience, I could not breakdown the patch notes to a level where I could understand it.
There for am hoping to get some answers from the playerbase.
The only question I have is: wich of the classes that I leveled will be my best bet to top the charts with in MOD10? Am extremely competitive PvE and PvP wise.
I know gear is key in this game, and I will do my best to obtain it. I also know that PvP is pretty unbalanced .. ( wich sucks)
I will probably focus ( 50/50) PvE and PvP
Thx allready for the friendly feedback!

You will struggle to be competitive if you focus on both pve and pvp. It's got to be one or the other I'm afraid. If you like pvp you will still be able to manage fine in pve but not the other way around.
As to your question, Conqueror GF is an absolute beast at high ILs and GWF can still dish out goodly amounts of damage. Trapper HRs can also churn out the damage at high ILs but to my knowledge you have to have a really good understanding of TR to make it shine.
The most important thing in life is to be yourself. Unless you can be Batman. Always be Batman.

Becky the trendy GWF - GWF / Too Toasty - SW / Falcor - DC / Morrigan - CW / Sir Didymus - OP
TR in PVP, WHEN played right is a powerhouse and a killing machine, in PVE WHEN played right, dishes a lot of good CC and damage, a god to res toons in battle.
Single target toons are rarely top paingiver. But in boss fights they shine.
If you intend to run a toon in PVE that has good party buffs and dont use em cos ya wanna deal personal damage, youre gonna get some nasty messages out there.
Wanna be competitive, play PVP, but be warned the current state of PVP is pretty bad.
Good luck out there.
You need to research your build on the class forums here & mmominds to make sure you get it right. A lack of understanding of some feats or getting the right rotation can make a huge difference to your capability.

GF:
-very good in PVE, buffer and tank, you never gonna wait long time in PE to catch a group.
-PVP, king of PVP till mod 9, mod 10 seems to be more competetive for that class but there are few player at BIS who top the charts, but you have to focus on PVP, otherwise you won´t be competetive. I guess a PVP GF at BIs can run every PVE content anyway.
GWF: PVE focussed can top the chart. DOing PVP, you need to be near BIS to enjoy that class at current state.
TR: Running a PVP setup you suck in PVE (flop of the charts), running a PVE setup you will never be good in PVP.
Hunter: I did a FBI-run with a 4k PVP-Hunter yesterday. I would call it mediocre in PVE (a PVP setup will never top the charts in PVE, never), but doing PVP they are something like the fotm-class and by that focus of next upcoming nerf threads. But the big advantage for Hunter--you can do good even at low GS.

In games like this there is no best...there's the best for you.
I like to be in the middle of everything. I don't like standing back in a corner trying not to be noticed or trying to do burst damage and waiting between bursts.
For that reason I do very poorly as a TR (and thus never play one) or CW and do very well as a GF. It doesn't matter if somebody else can do insanely well with one class if that class is a playstyle that might not suit you.
Think about how you tend to play games and pick based on that because you won't be the best doing something you are not the best at.
Am planning to go for the HR
I am a lvl 70 TR.
I have always used full pvp gear in pve.
I can reach top pain giver even without bondings.
Primary path sab, master infiltrator.
Pve setup
Basic mobs: dazing strike, shadow strike, smoke bomb.
Boss mobs: itc, shadow strike, smoke bomb.
At wills: gloaning strike, flurry.
Good luck!

Teach me. I've been 70 a while now and pushing 2.5il as an infil TR. I'm good for maybe 14-16M in a Throne skirm, less if there's someone really pounding it out. My last shores epic about 4XM. I was trailing a fairly geared HR at about 2/3's his output the whole run. Unless I'm in a great group, I'm usually 2-3 for damage, and if I'm the highest output it's because the rest are just under geared or a bad mix. I have respec'd once to get my gloaming bump to direct health damage and perma trash mob stealth. I know the builds I see online use Sly flourish, but I like gloaming's finisher damage and stealth recharge. I'm most of the way through a lot of the campaigns / boons. I'm into the middle-y paywall grind with what I'd assume are bonding's on appropriate companions and viable enchantments. I've stacked both passives for combat adv damage. My Armor pen is about 45%. Crit starting to creep towards 40%. 11k power. I deviated on some of the relics when I got a Lathandar's charm during the God's event, so I matched the set for the rez bonus. As a TR I usually take the least damage, but I have absolutely no defense or deflect at all - so do get one shotted by (everything). I am running the eye as the active so I can pull up the tank in exchange for never saving stealth ever now. When I do get popped like the squishy monkey I am, zero guilt as the whole team gets all their health back when I rez. I just drop the whole rot into shadow of demise - dazing, lashing, SB - and pound with flurry until proc. Gloam once or twice and repeat. I do my best to run interference for the tank if he gets in trouble, or if the scourge pulls aggro. PVP is 5% of my focus and I do enjoy the TR despite being paper and not hitting like I'd like to. Other than slamming hundreds of dollars into the game, what is my next move or two?
Soulforged? Will SF proc my lathander's gift on auto rez? Then work toward dread / vorpal? Bondings?
I assume you're using shadow strike to recharge stealth to reproc SOD with dazing when it comes back up, and digging with flurry on the initial and subsequent SOD bursts?
HR:
HR is currently the top class in PVP thanks to them recently having been reworked and the devs ended up making them way too strong. They deal extremely high damage in PVP especially the combat HR spec and can reach 100% deflection chance when close to BIS. A BIS combat HR can melt players in seconds with peircing damage and dots and is ungodly tanky. Trapper is also good in PVP and unsure about Archery.
HR seems to be ok in PVE but I know very little about PVE HRs and don't know exactly where they stand.
GWF:
I don't know much about the specifics for this class from the last couple months so I won't go into detail here.
They are very strong DPS in PVE.
In PVP, they are pretty tanky and do good dps. They do have a weak spot in that they are vulnerable to ccs and have fewer defenses/ways to avoid getting hit than many other classes.
GF:
Can do some PVE DPS but their most useful role is as a buffer/tank and they are in high demand for people forming groups to run PVE content.
In PVP, they ruled for 2 mods and have only recently been surpassed by HRs in how potent they are. For a while, most GFs I saw were dps builds capable of killing players in 3 hits or less and locking people into cc chains. Lately, I haven't seen as many that can do the kind of dps they were doing and it seems like PVP GFs have invested more in tankyness/buffing than they were doing before.
TR(This is where most of my knowledge is):
TR is playable and fun but right now, they are a little watered down and not the top in PVP or PVE.
In PVE, Executioners and Saboteurs are both able to pull off high DPS numbers. Executioners have a bit of a wind up and can compete with or surpass other dpsers easily provided the bosses don't die before they can get their stuff off. Saboteurs don't have much if any wind up and have the advantage over executioner TRs when it comes to quick damage and mob killing. Executioner has the advantage when it comes to boss fights with the exception of the fastest boss deaths. A Properly geared/built saboteur and a properly geared/built executioner are almost neck and neck with who wins depending almost entirely on whether the dungeon is more boss focused or more mob focused along with how long the boss fights take. Scoundrel is not the first choice for those wanting max dps, but it is good. It preforms excellently against mobs killing them very quickly but their damage against bosses is not great owing to most of a scoundrel's dps being dependent on a target being controlled(bosses are cc immune). This can be partially amended by using courage breaker on bosses but the other 2 TRs are still stronger dpswise. Scoundrels however are probably the best choice if you are looking to bring something to your team other than straight damage. They are great control and have more movement speed than other TRs.
In PVP, TRs are still decent but most of their usefulness in high end premades is dependent on courage breaker, smokebomb, and to a lesser extent, shocking execution. Their overall dps and at will damage is a little too watered down in PVP and it takes some stat stacking to get it decent. In premade matches, they play as cc support and can't really kill without help unless the other team is significantly weaker than your team is. Stacking tons of movement speed is also a viable way to play a TR as it allows you a massive advantage when capping and managing platforms. In non premades, TRs can afford to play more offensively and can kill much more often though other damage dealers still easily outperform them. SE is one of the TR's only remaining strengths over other classes in PVP as it is one of the few powers capable of a one shot kill and is piercing damage. Most PVP TRs are Saboteurs though there are also a few scoundrels and executioners. Executioner is not commonly used in high end premade teams at present though you will likely see some in pug matches. Saboteur and scoundrel have been almost equal within recent months. Between these 2, usually one will be slightly stronger than the other, though exactly which one is stronger changes a lot.

New mod 10 and 10.5 has brought it, to its lowest point.
Everything is about really boring grind (super boring) , unfun factors and wierd interactions (with tons of solo garbage and HES)
mod 10 forward, appears to be a turning point in the game.
you can of course ignore it for awhile, but if it continues this way, you will have to make a decision about it eventually.
That said, a new player could play this game for up to a year, without realizing how bad its become.
so , you could in essence get a ton of enjoyment from it.
My heart is with the HR, but probably the most consistant class all over the history of the game has been the CW. There was never ever a moment where CWs were considered a bad choice.
