Higher level armor making item level go down

Hey all,

Got my last piece of Dragonflight armor this morning, traded it for the drowcraft sallet, transferred the same rank 9 dragons hoard and the same dragons glyph over to the new Dragonflight helm, and my item level dropped 6 points. But the item level of the Dragonflight assault helm was 5 points over the drowcraft sallet. What gives? Why did my item level drop?

    Did you have an armor reinforcement kit on your drowning craft item? That's the only thing I can think of.

    Nope. Was saving it until I got my dragonflight piece. The same thing happened this morning with an alliance member, swapped rank 9 enchantments with rank 10s (about 5 of them) and his item level went down. Wtf is going on?

    i have noticed that also. i seen a few people il higher than mine with r8 enchantments and we would have the same ranks on everything else.

    I have also noticed swapping out some of the enchants to rank 12 has made my overall stat for armor pen power etc actually seem to be doing less damage now, idk it's kinda wonky.

    Infused armor? not sure you can even infuse the drowcraft but I am at a loss to think of anything else, very strange indeed.

    Btw don't use armor reinforcements if u plan on upgrading to elemental DF because you will lose them. And also remove all enchantments before you start the process of upgrading. Just a friendly PSA....

    The I level calcs have always been wonky never understood it tbh!
