Class Artifacts

ace#9545 ace Member Posts: 39 Arc User
Hi Folks,

I am a PS4 NWO Player.
DON'T THROW THOSE STONES YET, PLEASE!
I am posting this here because it is a general NWO question, and PS4 Players are not as familiar with many aspects of the game as you Seasoned PC Players.

My simple question...

When you hit level 60, do the Vault of Nine, and earn the Class-Artifacts that are claimable by all characters on that account...do you still have access to those earned artifacts even if you delete the character they were earned with?
The reason I ask is I got a few characters to level 60, got the artifatcs unlocked, but I do not like playing those classes.
So, I want to delete them, and try different classes.
But, I like having the artifacts available to all my characters...some are actually pretty handy.

Thank you for your time. :)

    I never dared test it...

This is exactly how I feel.
I really need the character slots.
But, until I hear directly from somebody whom has deleted a character, and still has access to the artifacts with future characters...I just don't have the "steel ones" to try it out for myself.

By the time my characters got to that quest, there was enough time invested to use them as alts for professions. I have heard that you CAN delete the character and retain the Sigil artifact unlock, but have not seen it for myself.
@panderus, @strumslinger any conformation on this?

Ive not seen one rage post over this. Not one complaint from anyone about losing access to a sigil via character deletion. Not one. But we see these topics, fairly frequently. So, either nothing gets taken away and there is no cause for rage. Or no one has ever tried.

    What seems more likely?

Off memory (as I had a guildie do this), Once they deleted the toon, they could no longer claim the artifact on another toon, however if they had already claimed it, it was still there.

I created a SW for the soul purpose of getting the SW Vot9 Artifact and then deleted her.
Once the artifact is unlocked it stays account wide unlock.

I delete my toon and still have the artifact available to claim, so yes

Unless developers comment on this, it is an "undocumented feature" and possibly subject to change in the future. I would be surprised if they went out of their way to change how it works but unrelated changes on the back end one day might cause account unlocks based on deleted toons to go away. For example, some future change might require them to recalculate available artifacts for each account.

As previously mentioned, the characters are good as profession alts or storage. I personally would use them for that before deleting a character I leveled to 60.

After readin these replies I have decided that it is better to just spend a few measly zen and get the extra character slots required for me to keep at least one of each class.
Just to keep them "future-proofed". ;)

Thank you all for your time, and input. :)

I see no reason for them to nerf account wide artifacts and they do in fact stay available after character deletion. Save your zen!

That'd be like saying if you bought an account wide mount on a character and when you delete that character you can no longer claim that mount on new characters...

It's not broken. You've earned that sigil by leveling to 60 and doing vault.

    Save your zen!

    Character slot is relatively cheap.

Depends on how long you can wait for, you can wait for:
    1. a 15% off coupon or
    2. Black Friday sales (usually 50% off) or
    3. character slot sales (there was a 80% off in PC once (or twice) before)

To progress in this game, IMO, having alt (regardless how useless they are) is VERY important.
More (if you can handle) is better in all fronts.

Having access to artifact sigils for different classes allows you to bridge the gap until you can afford or find a better artifact. It also allows you to choose one that benefits your character as soon as your slots open up, making leveling alts go a little easier/faster.

^ having read that, now go level a DC because the devoted sigil is one of the most useful aritifacts in the game. I won't say "most" since that's silly since it depends on your build, whether you're talking pvp or PvE, whether you're in a party, etc... but there is a group of most useful artifacts and the devoted sigil is in that group.

First, I don't hate the PS4 players Ace, and no one should. I just feel Cryptic has overburdened the tiny server with too many players and should have considered an upgrade first. ;) Note to planning department, free game offered to Sony PS4 players = buy new blade server.

Next, second, and lastly, why would anyone delete a level 60? Just buy more slots, more slots I assume can be obtained the same as PC? I have 8 slots and 6 characters. Don't get me wrong, I am not telling you to pay $4 for 2 slots. But even with the Zax in meltdown mode, it would be 200,000 AD for 400 Zen. It will take some doing at first but once you have 6 to 8 characters running some dailies the amount looks pretty small. They have 50% off sales every once in a while and that is how I got mine last two. If you are willing to buy the slots with cash, I recommend using a VISA gift card.

    Have fun!
