Transfer Companions to Other Characters on Same Account Once Per Companion

(*How about the option is only available to people who have used Arc to buy Zen or have spent at least $50 on their account?*)

Could be an option in the Emporium. Release From Service.

!0k AD to transfer an Uncommon
20k AD to transfer a Rare
40k AD to transfer an Epic
80k AD to transfer a Legendary

Can only be done once per companion. After the Release From Service is paid for, another character on the same account can get the companion at the Emporium, binds on pickup.

Another idea, though not necessary is to be able to pay at the Emporium to make companions bound to account.

    250k-500 AD for Uncommon
    500k-1mil AD for Rare
1 mil - 2 mil AD for Epic
2 mil - 4 mil AD for Legendary

Would make them into Errant Companions (errant as in wandering in search of adventure).

or they can keep it how it is currently, and make you obtain additional copies of the companion which benefits them in every way.

Which do you think they will honestly choose?

Its a player focused idea that has been proposed many times, and they are very unlikely to do it.

I don't know. A lot of companions don't cost actual money/zen. You can buy many companions with AD on the auction house, and they give away companions for free quite often. And people buy zen to in order to convert it into Astral Diamonds, so they don't really see how this would hurt their income. Most people aren't going to buy the same companion from the Zen store for multiple characters regardless.

But say I thoughtlessly or accidentally claimed a free companion with a character, then realized I made a mistake or changed my mind about which character should get it. Would really be nice if I could pay AD to transfer that companion over. Wouldn't be able to keep paying to transfer the companion back and forth. Making it so that each companion can only be transferred once seems fair.

Fairness has nothing to do with anything. They are not going to propose and develop a feature with the goal of losing revenue.

The option to unbind companions was hinted at in some ingame text during Beta, but was never implemented. Many many people asked for it for a long time and the Dev's response was that the idea had been rejected and was not on the table.

You can already pay Astral Diamonds to upgrade any companion from common all the way up to legendary. You can also get free companions (as in without paying Zen) during many different kinds of events. So I don't see how such a feature would make them lose revenue. People who buy companions off the Zen market, like I have done in the past, usually do so because they want that specific companion with that specific look or those specific powers. That won't be changed by allowing the transfer of companions once per companion.

*Without Gateway and Sword Coast Adventures, there's really no way to justify having more than five companions per character anymore.

*Also, whether they did this or not, I'm not buying any more companions from the Zen Market. I've bought one uncommon, one rare, and one epic with real money, I don't feel the need to buy anymore. It's just annoying that I can't switch companions I don't use (or a free one that I accidentally or thoughtlessly picked up with a character that doesn't need it). Some of my characters I only use for gathering diamonds, so I'm not gonna buy companions for them with actual cash regardless.

if it took one dev only one hour to implement this feature. Thats one hour worth of lost revenue as there is no way to recover this time spent (the money they have to pay for that one hour work). I highly doubt it would take one hour just used as an example.

If you truely have an idea you would like to see in game maybe detail how it would work in game to benefit the players as well as a way to recoup the time to develop and implement the idea.

You can add to that why even have the five companions currently or why bother a zen store purchase with all the free companions available along with in game currency upgrades?

Shuttering the gateway took alot of incentive away for people purchasing companions. I know people that purchased companions just for gateway even after it was shut down before the official announcement thinking it would be back up. Not to mention the loyal companion gear. Its also funny all of the events still have the Gateway reference and the new companions are still recieveing gateway dice. Remove the functioning part of the game but retain all the resources for it...........

Anyway as you can see I highly doubt we will see the topic making it past this post.
