Negative Luck

This is abit of me ranting and blowing off some steam.

So, I saved up about 30-40 keys, and bought 10 when I noticed the Wheel of Elements was put into the game, and gathered up 50 chests. Opened them all I saw everyone under the sun popping up with mount packs or companion packs or artifact packs, like every 10 seconds it seemed, so I popped open all my chests...best thing I got was NOTHING... I got a handful of those worthless genie gifts, afew profession packs (which i have purple profession people already), a few packs that gave 2 rank 7 enchants... woo... -.-' but not one damn wheel of elements, mount, artifact, ect...NOTHING...

On the crafting side of things I hit 25 mailsmithing to craft my 145 pant/shirt, ((Berserkers Gemmed Exquisite gear)) Its been about 9-10 days now, and not a single one of those two have popped up yet... but DC gear always pops up -.-'

Pug groups...enough said.

Who do I need to talk with to get alittle gameing luck damn? I see people with the new mounts, new artifacts, and all that walking around all the time and I am like "Well... must be nice..." While im still rideing around on my little tiger ((I bought a bear recently though because 50% mount speed is just...slow...and getting knocked off every 20 seconds))

Also I need a Lantern of Revaltions ((when i started didnt think the STARTER artifacts would be any good, so I just picked one at random figures it was one of the better ones in the game)) and like 20 poeple in my guild gotten them as drops from dungeons, sold em and danceing in the cash -.-' im lucky to get a crappy purple +3 ring from skirmishs -.-' let alone something worth accual AD

If anyone had ANY advice on what I can do to improve my game luck at all... Id greatly apperate it... I do enjoy the game, but not being able to get anything without spending 500k AD+ ((which takes me forever giving my best drops sell for MAYBE 3k AD at best)) id apperate it.

you think with 50 keys that your gonna get an epic drop? from everything ive seen the epic drops have such a low % of dropping, you r just seeing so many notifications because so many people r buying keys and opening boxes, it doesnt mean the chances in boxes are better, i feel these new boxes r garbage anyways and have still been opening shandokul boxes still

It sounds like you and I are on the same run of luck - ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY PROFESSIONS PACK! At least I'm lucky in having a great group of people to play with and make the game enjoyable in spite of my poor RNG.

    Don't even start bro...

I calculated the actual number of runs I did for the Beholder Mount. I originally over estimated. I thought I did 5K but it was actually 3,462 runs in that one instance over 3 weeks. Roughly 1K runs a week in one instance. I got ZERO beholder mounts. One player I ran with got 3 total. Talk about LUCK. That same player also has gotten 1 legendary griffon and was telling me last night he got another legendary pack off the new LB and is not sure which one to take. OMG LUCKY!

A friend has gotten an EPIC weapon pack every 20 keys. Yup, he buys 20 keys and always got an EPIC weapon pack. This same player also has been lucky with Power Points and a few other things.

A good friend of mine did a HR and hit level 60 and quickly stopped playing that character. He found EE was a bit of a challenge. he creates a GF and in no time his luck changes and get a Legendary Griffon and a few other good things.

I tried playing another character, no change in my luck. I tried opening the LB at different time, no luck. Tried hoarding keys, again no luck.

I'm not saying I don't have any luck as I was able to get 2 of the Armor Enchantment but that was not with any key. That was with 300K in AD. When the armor enchantment were around 300K I bought instead the boxes that may have them. My 2nd one opened on my alt landed me that, but that was not from a LB.

As I stated in another thread I get better luck with AD purchases than LB and keys. So my focus now will be on farming for AD and buying what I want.

I would love for my CW to have all four elemental archons but I don't see that happening.

Instead of buying keys, if you are wanting something specific from a lockbox, it is always better to just convert the Zen to AD and buy the item outright. Keys will almost always disappoint you. Sorry you had to learn that lesson the hard way.

I would love those genie gifts you don't need. The amount of time they are saving me on the campaigns is worth the ad they are costing.

He may have a membership and simply saved them up for a bit. I did this twice now and got nothing both times.

I did buy 20 keys once and I got 1 item I was after the rest were profession pack. LOL. That was when Zen was only selling for under 200 AD.

From July to August I opened around 300 boxes, give or take. I gotten roughly 200 profession pack, if not more.

My key this morning was another prof. pack. LOL...

My main right now only has 10 of each LB type. I'm going to finish opening those and than I will only open LB on my newest character, my others characters don't need much other than enchantments and refinement stones to improve the artifacts they have.

I tried the opening LB on my lower level characters - this seems to be the only time I don't get professions packs, though I still don't get anything good. Yesterday I got the 100TB when I opened the box on my lowbie DC so I may stick with opening things on her and transferring to my higher characters.

LOL....Worst decision I did was delete a character. That character had some of the best items I got in LB. A few level 8 enchantments, a spare Neg. Armor enchantment, and some rune stones, which I had way more than I needed at one point.

if you're willing to try anything...like me. open your boxes someplace other than protectors enclave. someone told me once that they had more luck opening them "anywhere" else than there. i've done it and only gotten better refinement items than usual. like diamonds etc. i dunno. have a try. you never know.

I'm just dying to get an armor enchantment. Any of them, I don't care. I can't afford the AD to get one on AH. It's brutal.

Run the sharandar dungeons or skirmishes - they drop a ton of armor enchantment shards. it only takes 4 and a coal ward and you have your armor enchantment. Not a great one (barkskin I think) but it's still and enchantment

Thank you, I didn't realize that. I was just going to buy some shards off the seal vendor if I ever found a coalescent ward. It seems the cheapest/easiest way to get one of those is with zen.

Better idea is run your two dungeons a day along with running skirmishes and save up until you have 250K AD or so. It will take a bit but you will get there. Another thing to do is buy the Rider Enchantment box. 30K a box or so. Buy those and open those up. That is where the weapon and armor enchantment come from.

Sorry, I know I'm quoting you in multiple threads right now. Save up 250k AD for what now? To just buy an enchantment on the AH? I thought they were far more expensive than that. Also the rider boxes, are those on the AH? These are all things I didn't really know about. I'm pretty new to the game and just spent all my time in battlegrounds until I got hooked.

He's correct, save up your AD and you can easily buy a Coal ward or an enchantment from the AH (depending on the Enchantment)

I haven't tried the Rider Enchantment box route but @mebengalsfan#9264 always seems to know what he's talking about.

Since you say you are newer - I'll go ahead and give you this heads up since I know so many people who have made this mistake in the AH. When you go in there, search for what you want then scroll to the right for the one with the cheapest buyout and grab that one. Yesterday I bought out Dusk boots for all of my lowbie characters because I noticed that they were super low in the AH. If you don't have a pair now is the time to grab one. I paid 6k each for the sets.

Rider box is a gamble though but spending 250K, give or take, ensure you get the armor enchantments.

The weapon enchantment pricing is 100K or less for a Terror if you want anything else it is around 400-500K if not more.

To find these items go into the AH. Select refinement, select Enchantment as the category within the Refinement Category. From there, select the category that allows you to select the enchantment type and select Armor to see the pricing.

If you want the Rider box go into the Refinement Category, select Pack and in the text area enter RIDER and hit search. Look for the one with a buy out price. They are around 31-35K per a box. If you have enough AD you might be able to buy a stack of them for say 150K or so.

The reason why I like the Rider pack...

    1) Super or Greater Mark of Potency.
    2) Than a chance a variety of items to help improve your enchantments from diamond, blood ruby, black opal, enchanments, weapon enchantment, armor enchantment, etc...

It is a gamble but IMO the Rider box is one of the best gambles I have seen in game.

For 30K you are getting a 25K or 100K AD mark and other good stuff. IMO it is well worth the 30-35K price per a box.

Thank you guys. I don't buy a lot on AH since I don't really know what to shop for, so I was just keeping an eye on the terror enchantment since I saw it was the cheapest. Then I saw everyone saying how bad it is before I discovered the coalescent ward.. which makes it seem like I could pick which enchantment I wanted to make.

I really appreciate the info. I'm not sure I have the patience to save up anywhere near 500k AD for an enchantment so I may try the rider box. I'll have to look into the dusk boots though. I've seen everyone talking about them and have no idea what the deal is with them.

I got lucky with the soul enchant. Had four and a a cheap ward. 1% chance and it worked. I have mixed feelings on it thou.

As for lockboxes I think glorious boxes are a joke. Yeah nice stuff but basically makes tradebars obsolete. Hell the price now on companions is nothing

Phase Spider is still valuable trade bar companion. Buy that if you have the bars. The Fire Archon went down as it should. You can get an epic one for almost the same pricing as a uncommon one, so yeah it should drop in price.

If you get all archons and they are epic, are a tiefling, and have the siege master companion you would be overpowered as a DPS.

Tiefling gets you a bonus to damage when an enemy health is below 50%
Fire archon does the same thing.
Water Archon give bonus damage when the enemy is at full health
Earth Archon gives you bonus damage when you are at full health
Air archon gives bonus damage when the enemy is not at 100% health.

Having the five companions above when an enemy is at 100% health and you are at 100% health you would be doing an additional 15+% damage.

When you are at full health and the enemy is above 50% in health you are doing an additional 13+% more damage.

When an enemy is below 50% health and you are at full health you are doing an additional 25+% more damage.

At the very least you would be always get a 10+% boost in damage from the five companions above.

I wonder how many DPS have all four archons and the Siege Master at epic or higher level.

I don't get the 100% health rating thing. So, if you get the first hit, you get a bonus. But after 1 hit on the target, they are no longer 100%. Seems like a waste.
  • ravenskyaravenskya Member Posts: 1,891 Arc User
That's when the other Archons kick in - if you have all 4 then you are constantly getting a bonus. I'm slowly working on collecting them for my TR, I just have to make sure I'm the first on to get in a hit.

It is not a waste, especially when you solo content.

As I pointed out, if you have the Siege Master and all four archons you will always get a minimum of 10% bonus in your damage. That does not include bonding process of stats or anything else. That is not a bad thing to get.
