OP PVP Advice--handling the GF/GWF mark loop bug(feature)

OK folks that PVP in here, what do you do in regards to running Aura of Courage and dealing with the damage loop caused by GF/GWF marking and our tab function?
Is it:
1) Don't use the tab function even though it allows us to greatly reduce our cool downs which is quite nice but in this case deadly
2) Choose another passive besides Aura of Courage and take a hit on DPS (as if we much any to start with).. If so which one would be recommended
3) Chalk this up as yet another broken part of the game that will never be fixed and find a better use of time besides playing this game?

    Apologies for not contributing to your questions OP however I'm new and can't open my own thread yet. I thought this thread would be a good place to pose my questions too.

    I currently play a Protection Paladin and am still relatively new to game (currently low level 60s) so would like some general PVP advice.

    I want my pally to be pvp focused. So if that means sacrificing some stat for another then I'm ok with that.

    I currently use the following encounters for PvP: relentless avenger, Templars wrath and Smite. The only encounter I'm unsure of is smite. I enjoy the high burst but would I be better off with using a different skill? Sacred weapon perhaps? At wills I'm using radiant and shielding strike because I don't really know which to be using.. I run with aura of courage and vengeance (again because I don't know which to use).

    My stats are all messed up due to following two different builds so I will be buying a respec at 70 (which seems like an age away).

    Id also like to know which gear/artifacts etc I should start working towards as I know that will be the biggest grind. I currently still have my Mullhorand Mace, should I look to get rid of it soon?

    I don't use Courage anymore, I use Vengeance and Wisdom, also for Protection OP, either PvP or PvE you need a fair amount of ArmPen if you want to at least deal some damage to the other team and not just be a punching bag, lol.

    @krit I always keep Binding Oath, because Templar's wrath doesn't give as much Temp HP in PvP most of the times, also helps against the piercing damage, remember to use your shield to mitigate the dmg spikes for when BO expires and to get rid of some of the CC (works pretty well to get free from HR's roots).

    I will try vengeance and see what it does for me.. I currently have 16K armpen and should have 17.5K once my arts get to mythical. Thanks for the info.

    You raise a valid point. I've spent the last couple of days now pvping and with the amount of CC to contend with its difficult to get Wrath off anyways can I ask tho, does binding oath taunt players too, not just mobs?

    Binding Oath taunt isn't working afaik, not even for mobs. Other Aura you could use is Truth (only if you have the power on your Off Hand), even tho is inconsistent your shield power actually works, gives you a little more control.

    i run with truth (with it also set up as the off hand power) and solitude for the damage increase as lets be honest people leave ops to defend caps alone.
    i also use binding oath, smite and circle of power.
