Popping/Clicking Noise

Hello,

I am getting a popping/clicking noise in the game ever since Mod 10 launched.

I hear a pop about once every 5 seconds and it comes from a random place in my surround sound headset. This has happened to me with two different headsets (both were Dolby virtual 7.1, not sure if that's related though). This is also happening to other guildies, so it's probably not my computer.

It seems to only happen when there is a companion summoned or someone else's companion nearby. It also seems to not mute when the game is in the background. So I can hear it happening right now as I type this in the Arc browser.

It drives me so crazy that I'm actually using the forums to get some help and I never use the forums.

Is this a common problem? Do enough of us suffer from this to make it a valid issue?

    I've noticed this sound, I think. It's kind of like the same sound as I get when someone send me a tell, and possibly one other, but I haven't given it much thought. I don't experience it nearly as frequent as you though. How often it happens, I can't tell for sure as I will afk for a short amount of time relatively often, but maybe once per 4 hour or so.

    I've got that too, only in my headphones (also 7.1) and not in the speakers, but only sometimes.

    You get a clicking/popping sound when you get a tell? That sounds strange, it should be a clear and obvious "ding" when you get a tell. I wonder if we have a missing or corrupted sound file and instead of getting the correct sound we end up with the staticy click/pop.

    I get a click every 8-10 seconds through the headset. Thought my controller's jack was bust. Kinda worried i needed a new controller :s
    Definitely not the same as a "tell" ding.

    Mind if I ask what type of headsets you are using? I mean are they USB or 3.5mm pins? Are yours also Dolby virtual 7.1 hawkblaze?

    Update: It might just be the Fire Archons making this click/pop. I still think it's a bug though as the sound doesn't mute when the game is in the background.

    Looks like it might only happen with the two latest Fire Archon skins too. So if this annoys you like it does me you can use one of the first two skins for it.

    If this noise is intentional and is somehow meant to sound like a fire crackling then sorry for wasting your time. If that's the case though then please rethink your decision as it sounds terrible.
