Subscription Based Server

Possibly create an option for people to pay a subscription on a new server. Complete with character transfers. Gold sellers will not pay a subscription and then take the chance of being banned. They are out to make money, not spend it.
And of course there would be subscription perks.

Of course the F2P server will remain intact for those not wanting a subscription. Just a thought...let the flames begin!

Somone better tell Blizzard that a subscription will stop botting and gold sellers. They might not be aware of this.

Though I am not opposed to F2P, I agree that there should be some perks to actually spending our money other than getting stuff from the market. It would be nice to be able to go into a server that wasn't over run with gold spammers in the PA. Thankfully that is the only place we have to worry about that at, right now at least.

See what I mean about the flames. I never said or claimed to know as much as you professional gamers and your elaborate knowledge of all these other games. But like I said, it was just a thought! Then again, the responses so far were to be expected.

This community is so tolerant, I do not have to go out of my way to pun or insult others, their mannerism speaks for itself...enough said!

Probably be a better idea to have a Subscription Zone/channels.

Easy way to get rid of gold spammers filling your chat,

    1) Turn off zone chat/LFG/Trade unless you need them.
    2) Right click report spam.

Second post of this thread would have answered your question too and saved you a lot of time. http://www.arcgames.com/en/forums/neverwinter#/discussion/1191785/pwe-community-rules-policies-and-forum-guidelines It's under the spoiler-tagged "Will Neverwinter ever have a subscription model?"

VIP is about as close as this game will ever get to a true sub....and it's a pretty loose definition of one at that.

I don't have any serious gold spammer issue except getting a mail once a while.
Simple solution: don't listen to the public chat unless you mean to.

I really don't see anyone totally flaming. It's not, not a very viable idea. I play a subscription based game in addition to Neverwinter. There are just as many bots and gold-spammers in that game. The gold-spammers just usually get taken care of faster and make accounts at a much slower rate, which makes a lot of sense when you think about it.

@colier please understand the spammers don't need to pay even on a subscription based server. They phish for players data and steal some idiot's account who purchased from them. They know some people are going to use the same password and user ID to sign up for gold buying. They use other tactics but I am not here to write their guide. In other cases, they do buy in, when it pays $500 a day to scam gold sales. :(

Instead of subscription model, they should simply offer "private instances" payable with zen, running on separate server.
Lets say I want to farm HEs (not that I want to but I am forced to it because of game design).
This process is quote boring, but constant lag makes it really frustrating.

Private instance should be instance, created by 1 player, which then can invite his friends into instance. It should be time-limited and disband after time expires or someone pays to extend it. In case of dungeons they will be on just for the dungeon run.
Private instances should run on separate servers with better (or reserved) internet connectivity and server resources. And should be unavailable if there are no resource left to guarantee good experience.

I think this will not really break free-to-play model, as game will still be playable in free mode, but people who want to enjoy it most and are ready to pay for it will still be able to do it, even together with their "free playing' friends.

the free to play servers will be mounted to dialup modems "forcing" people to pay for the game. making it essential pay only. terrible idea. a better idea would be to fix the servers like other games have servers that do not lag like that.
