mod 10 joke gear

....so we can get new gear some off zen store , some off tram bar store, some from grinding till you puke ! but why ? the gear set bonus only helps you in new zone / dungon ( that gives meh rings and junk ) ! so how does new gear help us over all ? ...in mod 3 we had Black ice gear and the set bonus would help in all zones ( even pvp ) and needed to be recharged like this new umm HAMSTER gear that does little to nothing out side of new zone !

    simple answer, don't worry about getting the new gear. Yes it means you wont be able to run the new dungeon but it will save you many headaches along the way. They love throwing out new gear sets for people to chase. Since mod 6 was released there have been,

    Alliance Armor
    Elemental Alliance Armor
    Elven Armor
    Elemental Elven Armor
    Guild Armor
    Dragonflight Guild Armor
    Drowcraft Armor
    Dusk Armor
    Frostborn Armor
    Relic Armor

    And I wont be surprised if mod 11 has yet another new gear set or two.

    And all this for what? a little help for the new mod? Im still using Dusk armor and having no issues doing the campaign. And the only reason I switched to Dusk armor was because the Elven armor was so fugly. If you have a good build you wont even really need the everfrost damage resistance.

    Get one piece of the frostborn set for the 1 piece bonus and use it when you're farming relics to meet the ridiculous blood requirements. Then salvage it with gusto once you're finally freed of that garbage grind.

    I have the complete set and I will likely never use it due to the voninblood costs. Yes, that is raid gear.

    Haha watch the next mod introduce new armor better than relic that requires you to donate blood to Cryptic in order to use.

    That's all MMOs are about. You need stuff to work for, else there's nothing to do.

    It also needs the unbound armor and gear of mod5. The vets/high level players farm the dungeons that the new/low level players cannot complete yet and sell them the gear. Keeps the vets active and noobs a way to acquire gear. Nope PWE wants all the money.

    I don't think anyone is questioning what an MMO is all about. We are all more than a little put off from the grind that is required for some Frost Resistance gear that we will never use. This company should be much more creative in it's design of a carrot on a stick if they want people to chase down the best rewards in the game. This is Dungeons & Dragons after all, and I don't think that it is a leap to expect something more at this state of the game.

    For the full set y need like 125 lanolin + other stuff. I get it 30% of the time from heroics... So in theory never mind the other mats we are looking at 350-380 heroics here. If one decides to actually farm the stuff. Or am i missing smth? Beyond the sanity.This alone stopped me from even thinking about getting relic gear for collection. 3 frostborn pieces + signet/food/potions/2nd boon & 1 armor kit is enough to enter FBI thankfully.

    But empowered it has about 2,600 more stats and also a lot more stats for the actual content. And after playing the new dungeon, i kinda like it.

    You don't have to do it in a day. I would if only the voninblod empowerment requirements weren't that ridiculously high. However, I will most likely never craft any of the parts because the gear is useless if it's too time consuming to maintain. Cryptic logic at its best.

    30% would be a godsend! I recieved 5 lanolin from 100 HEs over the last 2 weeks doing 7 to 10 a day. Im done. This mod actually made me decide to go back to IWD and farm black ice to upgrade my dragonflight set. I told myself that doing that would never be worth the grind. Its a hell of a lot less of a grind than RoG gear.

    Aye Im working toward r12 enchants. Much better time/resource investment imo than black ice 2.0. Now, if you're bis already with r12 etc then you might as well farm mod 10 simply because there is nothing else for you to do. But the majority are not bis and have many other goals to chase in Neverwinter.

    It's a real pity about the upkeep costs, the stats are perfect for a pve HR on the relic gear.

    Loved the new dungeon, but again, there's no reason to run it more than once for the experience, as the material rewards are just not there, and you don't need the gear in order to actually complete the dungeon.

    A better way of doing it would have been to have had an initial dungeon which you would have to run (in whatever gear you liked) to obtain the relic pieces, and some of the ingredients to restore them perhaps, in order to be able to survive everfrost damage AT ALL, and then FBI itself, same difficulty, but with much, much better rewards. One of the rewards being a way to remove the upkeep costs from the armor permanently.
    No idea what my toon is now.

    getting sick of spending 2g for each gem remove back and forth?
    that is nasty cash sink. bit too excessive cost.

    ya I am not grinding for the gear at all...may not even unlock FBI as the rewards don't seem worth it. Just grinding the boons at this point and wished I wouldn't have spent the trade bars on the two pieces.

    I have also the complete set on my OP and considering the amount of lanolin ALONE to restore each piece, im just gonna look at those ruins in my inventory. I play 4 toons, all are 4k but they will keep their adamant pieces and dragonflight.
    Anyway im not running FBI for the loot but more for the challenge, the team work needed. I wish there was more dungeons like those. If i want to run something for the loot or to make some AD's i'd rather run 3CN instead of one FBI. But this demon wearing a tutu to hide its hairy parts is starting to tire me.

    The set bonus is so bad, and the grind is ridiculous. So yea I'll just wait for mod 11 gear.
