Elite Shadow wolf mount

So I have enough zen and a coupon on stand by.

Is the elite wolf worth getting for the +2k armor pen?
In general?
I know some classes need it more than others.
And in pve it seems like over 2500 is a waste from what I'm reading.

So, should I buy the elite wolf on the zen market for all or any of my toons to have access to the armor pen?
Or should I grab an UC one off the AH for the one toon I'd actually ride it on?

Ie, for the armor pen Stat alone, is it worth it?

I currently have the yowler with cut strike.
And next interned on getting a bear for aesthetics and +8k hit points for some toons.

They both give the bonus to drop refine stones.
And I'll be getting the bear regardless.

    depends on what you need in stat and class wise, you can get enough a.pen in equip/guild/bonns so its up to you if you need a.pen i say go for it

    the good thing about the mounts are they are account bound if bought from the zen store and we can have a whole stable with active stats so if money isnt a issue for you and you plan on playing long term I say go for what makes your enjoyment better even if its just visual

    Thanks for the advice.
    I read up on it more and decided to pass on getting it in zen.

    Especially when I managed to score one of the AH for 50k to give to my drow.

    Of course, next run one dropped for me.
    And now a new dilemma.
    Give it to my wife, who wants one, but doesn't know I scored a second one...
    Or sell it for the 100+k they are going for now...

    The dropped one isnt the same as the epic one in the store. Only the epic shadow wolf offers the 2000 Armor pen, and the wanderers fortune boon.

    Yeah.
    Noticed that.
    That was the basis of my question.
    I only wanted the cosmetic side of it for one toon.
    So it was down to the perks.
    Didn't seem worth it.

    And I plan getting the armored bear which has the wanderer boon.
    So that's no worry.
