I would like to see a class changing token in the game. This would help the people who might get pissed about "class balance" and quit the game because of it. Why is a class change token important?
1. I dont want to do all campaigns again, spending months on it, i rather quit the game.
2. Everything is expensive, nice challenge, but, dont want to do it over and over again.
3. Class balances, might make people pissed -> quit game
4. Getting bored, too much work to make a new char and do everything to make it strong, rather -> quit game.
You see my point? Also, there would be a lot of bored people switching class. If you make the change class token like 10.000 zen, its afford-able, and nice, when comparing it to other costs + time efford. If i really want to switch a class, i would even pay 20.000 or 30.000 zen, but, making it too expensive means less people can afford it + rich ppl wont change much, maybe 1x. Much more profit-able to keep it at a good price.
Beside that, you could decide to change the equip also, or do it seperated, make it 1000 zen for each peace to change ( talking about class artifact weapons). So in total, to switch everything, you would spend 12000 zen, or 6million astral diamond. Equipment like helmet, armor, gauntlets, boots, are not that hard to get, so it wouldnt be needed to change them, just farm them again, they will have something to do.
I know people who would like to change their class, but because of too much efford and AD , they wont do it.
And it will still be worth it, for people who like to play on many different classes, to make more chars for it. Because switching is expensive, so you wont be doing it just for a hour playing. So it would only make it easier, for the people who would quit the game because of being bored or because of class balances.

Well it would make it less likely to have a FOTM class, since the devs like "balancing" classes to create a FOTM class in order to make people spend money, its obvious that what they do, look at the pally.
That, and the fact that this comes up in almost EVERY MMO, and I'm not sure if any can do it or have done it unless it was built in from the start. Typically CLASS is an integral part of the toon, and changing it would likely cause a lot of issues.
What if I really wanted to play the character BEFORE their new class balance B.S.?
Does that answer your question at least as to why someone would make it and play it and get all the boons?
We don't know how all this class balance B.S. will play out but it won't be for the better. Sadly nothing they do ever is.
We still haven't gotten back all the dungeons they took out to improve things. Starting to see the trend yet?
So....... is it that hard to see why someone would want to switch classes?

Armor enchants
offense enchants
deffense enchants
bonding stones
underdark rings.
What isnt tradable:
Armor (head, neck, arms, feet and chest. )
Artifact gear
artifacts
gear slots
loyal avenger and adorable companion gear.
and of course time spent on boons.
Boons are not that hard, just a regrind.
I have all the classes between 75-100% of the boons done. The biggest pita of them all is TOD , I stop at 3 or 4 now.. too much of a waste of time for such a little return.
RP is now more bottlenecked then it was, but you can easily get ANY toon to all epic status for not that much effort, after that its a little more harder (ironically, artifact weapons and gear are now easier to get then rp for regular artifacts) There is always something.
EVERY class Ive played in 3 years has had reworks, Ive even parked some for lenghty times afterwards, after being ripped aprt (HR old combat comes to mind.. even current trapper is nothing like old combat was) GWF has had 3-4 massive reworks CW 3 at least from my memory, HR 2 , SW 1 already and another coming, TR those poor dudes have literaly had a rework a month for like its first 2 years of existance =P)
GF was the only class to linearly get buff after buff until they went a little too crazy on it.. it desevered about 80% of those buffs though.. as it sucked for a long time at the start of the game and no one really played them much. But you know cryptic.. they cant seem to get things settled right half the time.
If you dont like whatever they are doing to your class, either reroll another class or find a new game.. thats what everyone else has doen for 3 years.
ITS a mmo EXPECT reworks.. its bound to happen. Insulate yourself to the best of your ability (I have every mount power unlocked via purchased epic account mounts, I can exchange enchants and such.. while I work at getting alts artifacts and artifact gear high at a steady pace. )

Dead🔪I'd be on board with them making Legendary mounts BtA or transferable (within your account) once a month. Perhaps something similar with companions.
Adapt or move on.
BUT.. the expensive and CHAR bound legendary mounts, artifacts, artifact gear, companions etc are the real problems this game has. Especially the mounts and companions should be account wide.
Im not sure how many of the players are like me in this game. But I want to play this game with the best gear possible. Doing fast runs and highend PvP. I grinded and farmed and collected items on my CW since BETA. Im still playing the same char since forever and its my only char. Its way to expensive to gear out a 2nd char. Who can spend 18m AD on a legendary mount more than one time?.. Im guessing most players cant even afford the first one.
Its limiting and so far Ive stuck around playing the game but I can imagine that once players get sick of playing the same class they rather try another game than start all over again with a new one.
And honestly, the boons.. Wow I cant imagine I would ever (even if someone paid me) grind those again on a 2nd char. Boons needs to be account wide too. Or atleast a full boon pack for zen that does not cost 20k (only once you unlocked the boons on atleast one char).

I know there are poeple who do in fact play like 2 dcs and 2 gfs.
Always seemed a little redundant to me, but I understand they may want two different builds .

There are plenty of online games where classes have never been nerfed
Knight online from 2004 until present!
None of the power's players can choose from have been nerfed. Not one single power!
They have assassin type classes that can stealth and one shot you as well.
The amazing thing is the players there understand that this is part of the game, and they don't scream for nerfs. They adapt and learn. Plus having one of these types of players gives you a skill called cat eyes that allows you to see hidden players(when cast).
They have control wizard type classes that have unlimited aoe hit boxes...
These control types have
Ice - slows everyone
Fire - added dot damage
Lightning - stuns everyone on hit
People don't scream for nerfs...
They accept that this class can control or nuke the cap out of you.
Maybe where games go wrong is by asking for feedback from players....
But thanks for mentioning Knight Online, it is in my opinion the most balanced pvp experience.
The reason for the balance is that even a mage, who is very vulnerable towards rogues, can adapt their equipment to temper rogue attacks. Something like NWO has done with the overload enchantments, but it shouldnt stop there...
The worst i have ever done, was doing the campaigns. After when i wanted to try out SW, i spent a lot on the toon, i bought 2 full campaigns. And you know what? It doesnt seem acc-wide, while someone told me it would be acc wide.
So if you want to have fun, try out all classes, you would spent.. 7 classes? can be wrong didnt count them, That would be 6x 10.000 AD = 60.000 AD. not counting main cuz you can grind it on 1 char. And that is only 2 out of 9 campaigns ? I dont like to spend my time on doing quests, they are terrible boring for me, i would pay to finish them all. But the prices.. if there would be 9 campaigns for 5k zen each, that is 45.000 zen for 1 char for campaigns to skip the very boring part. Ok some people like quests and reading, i dont. It is my opinion, everyone can think different about it.
Just how i see it, if i want to switch a class, and i want to be strong, i should have all boons, since they help a lot. Which means, i need to spent atleast 1 month, if not more months, doing very boring stuff, which i dont like at all. Only so i can play a different class. I was very happy when i finally finished elemental evil campaign, for the first time. Second time no way.
Quests are good in the game, some people like them, others not, i understand that people should work for their boons. But, i just think that doing 1x all boons, should be enough. Why doing over 1 month long stuff you dont like, only so you can play the class ?
Ofcourse you dont need everything, but, i want to be stronger or better buffs than most of the players. I see it as a challenge. It is a real challenge for me, to get the good expensive stuff. Atleast enchantments are trade able, that is a good thing. Just i dont see the point in doing campaigns more than once for boons on multiple chars.
Example in a game, dont know if i can name that one. Most stuff was archieve-able, so account bounded. You could switch classes for free whenever you wanted. It was part of the game, did it cause any trouble? No.
Beside, learning a class, comes with endgame stuff, some skills works better with good equipment, boosting it more, some skills you might not need, because you have enough lifesteal or defense. I made my control wizzard 60, it was weak, didnt like it, because i had the wrong build and didnt rly bother on spending lots retraining tokens to find out a nice build.
And what experience you get from lvling your class? When you can have it from lvl 4 to 70 in a half day? in like 5-6 hours? You dont gain experience from the class skills, or not really, yet it is still possible to do. All you need is a friend helping you. The only difference between what is possible already and class change token, are the boons, and char bound stuff. Making stuff acc bound will make it even easier for ppl to switch class whenever they want. Without needing to pay for it. Not everyone would like to spend 5k-10k zen each day on changing class, so it would only happen once in a while that someone does it. It brings money to the game, which supports the game.
Also this thread is just meant as feedback, my opinion about it, everyone may have a different opinion. Or a better solution. I didnt expect everyone to like the idea. But Im free to try and see what people think about it no?
I would suggest you do that, I wouldn't spend a dime on things that are usually for one toon. This is why I dont have legendary mount, I could have a maxed out 4.2k toon and a legendary mount and top everything ++ but I woudlnt do that.. I dont have any desire to play 1 toon.
If they ever give us a account wide legendary mount, I would jump all over it though.
THE game does not cater enough to ACCOUNT wide players.. focusing only on those who want to play 1 toon.

(like making the GF useless as a tank changing him to DPS and making a even better tank old OP and then nerfing him hard as well nerfing the new DPS made GF)
they could place a new class change token, a really expensive one btw, they can make money wille making players happy plus not power creep on this item so i fail top see the problem...
but maybe the reason is: The one using it would keep his Pets, mounts, rings, proffessions, artifacts and the Artif.weapons could be used as RP soo the reason is LOSS OF MONEY IN RP...
