"Update 7/27: We'll be extending the Summer Festival until August 1 at 10am PT in order to give adventurers more time to turn in their tickets to the ticket exchange. Once the Summer Festival ends on Monday, the ticket vendor and his wares will not be at the event dais. The sahha ball will also be removed from the Zen Market when the event ends. We hope you enjoy this extended festival!"

It is just a server reset so no patch notes(from twitter).

I think it will be nice if they add it to calendar though. I know they said it on twitter, but in game would be nice, many don't read twitter.

Since @strumslinger updated his own blog post I would think it is already confirmed.

However, it would have been nice to have this update prominently placed in the launcher, or even here on the forums so more people would have been made aware of the extension. Also, it would have been nice so I didn't get up at 5am today to try for the final 30 copper tickets I needed when I could have stayed sleeping as apparently I had the whole weekend yet to go!

Doesn't matter much now. Many people did the math after spending a day or two doing the sasha thing and quickly realized they probably will not get anything without spending money and lots of time begging to get into groups to bounce a ball a billion times. Then there are the scammers they have to avoid. These people already gave up before the first weekend.

The more hopeful ones spent another week hoping for a change in drop rate or reward cost. Of course they were disappointed when no change was made. More people throwing in the towel after each patch.

I don't typically use Twitter, and honestly, I shouldn't have to use 3rd party websites for information about the game. That is what this website and the launcher should be used for. Is it really that hard to come here and make a post about the extended time? We shouldn't have to rely on other people re-posting blog posts or tweets to get this information!

Too bad I wasted the favors on the armored boar mount when I would have had enough for the water steed. Wish I would have known before I wasted them. Maybe allow us to turn them back in??? I know that will never happen just wishful thinking on my part.

I learned about the extension about an hour before rollover, ~8 hours or so before it was scheduled to end. Someone in the festival zone chat posted about the extension, and the party that I was ticket-balling in eventually hunted it down and verified it. It was a relief for those who were going sleepless trying to get in dozens of ticket-balls on a workday. But it would've been so much better to have not dropped the ball, and to have also no waited until so very late to inform us through any channel.

If you use Twitter and Facebook for announcements instead of the official forum, you devalue the forum.

This isn't the first game, and I am sure it won't be the last, where important information about the game was only found on external sites. One suggestion might be to add a 'breaking news' type section to the welcome screen once you log in, things like the festival extension could be prominently placed there where everyone could see it regardless of which sites they check.

Thankfully the last favor I really needed was the one for today, however, having more chances at mithral tickets will be nice... though I doubt I will get another legendary mount!

The forums are good, but in-game would be best, after all only a small fraction of the playerbase even uses the forums, we all see the welcome window when we log in. I have often wondered why games don't utilize more in-game methods of communicating with the playerbase.

A nice popup, or other type of message... heck even a global mail message would work... indicating the festival was being extended 4 days would reach everybody if it was in-game versus being only on the forums or other social media platforms. Everybody versus a small minority... I would implement the method where everybody gets the message if it were up to me!

As for the current message not getting out correctly, well it is understandable with the amount of work Andy must be doing these days with Neverwinter existing on three separate platform and all the work that entails. Hopefully in the future a better way of getting this type of information out to everybody can be implemented.

its ok we all make mistakes.

why does protectors enclave not have a ticket vendor cause now i have to wit till next year to spend mine cause i was late to turn them in. and the protectors enclave summer mercahnt isnt even helpful. it would help to have the summer merchant repalced with the ticket vendor or add the ticket vendor next to the summer merchant @strumslinger

It was extended specifically because there would be no raffle vendor after the event. Rather then try to hotfix it, or patch it, or just alter it, they extended it. It would seem to be the best fix they could come up with. I wouldn't expect them to change on this, this year.

I do have to wonder why it was so hard to just spawn the ticket vendor NPC on the dais though?

Some sort of special code on him that pertains to the summer festival only perhaps... hmm, maybe they couldn't easily remove the Zen store link to the Sahha ball?

I'm only assuming the event was extended so you can have the vendor the the extra week like most events and they didn't have a way to turn off the sahha event and have a vendor like most events so they just extended the whole thing.

But the News posting of the extended event stated the vendor will not be available after this extension.

strumslinger, we need the devs back to home forum, not everyone use facebooks, twitter, or other odd sites.
those sites are considered 3rd party sites even they are legit, it seem unfair for players to chase them to several sites getting the risk to expose to hackers.
