High Prophet

So I've noticed a few people in Protectors Enclave asking for a high prophet devoted cleric. I look up the set and it's available at level 60, IL 84, and brings my stats down quite a bit. So I'm wondering what is so special about this gear, is it the set bonus?

    Set bonus: Set 2: Equip:+ 400 Recovery
Set 4: When striking a foe you shred 10% of their armor. This effect stacks up to 3 times. Lasts 4 seconds.

I know the set bonus, I was asking if that's why it was significant but I guess that's my answer...I didn't think losing all of those stats were worth it...

    1. It is rare and does not drop anymore. Can only be obtained from someone who got it long ago, before Elemental Evil, and never equipped it.
    2. Set bonus is one of the best in the game, if not the best. Increases damage to target from all sources and stacks up to 30%.

But, since it is old T1 gear it has very low stat bonuses, particularly hit points.

Oh alright, that explains the prices then. Thanks!

^^^ Yes, the debuff "armor shred" is just simply too awesome. Start staking the other buff/debuff builds for the cleric on top of it... boss smasher.

Does this even exist on XBOX? I don't recall what mod was released when XB went live but I thought it was post Mod6 (HP was removed with that patch). Im probably wrong, since people would never be unreasonable enough to request impossible gear.

Either way, its a stats hit, but one of the best set bonuses in the game. Since DCs shouldnt take much damage, and there are other gear pieces you can get that help reduce the pain, its still good. If you are a fresh 70, maybe nnot unless you are with a really good group. Once your other gear is up there in quality, you can drop down to HP and gain benefits.

Its going to be spendy though.

I know I love it, I just don't want people getting this set nerfed. Although I'm sure cryptic ill find a way to nerf it indirectly/ninja/

They won't bother nerfing legacy sets. The only way they will lose value is if there are newer, better set bonuses on level 70 gear.

Lol I say nerf them. Unfair advantage and all that. The funny thing is those with the sets are the same ones screaming the content is to easy

Why did they stop the set from dropping in dungeons?
  • thedramacusthedramacus Member Posts: 83 Arc User
I can understand taking a few of the sets out of dungeons, like this one. Currently its ability is insane. I still dont understand why they took all of the old 60 sets out. I really enjoyed having 6 main paths to spec down, 2 different paragon paths each with 3 potential feat paths. Then choosing an armor to match that play style. To me now I see 2 armor choices, offense or defense.

Anyone who thinks nerfing these old sets is off the table is nuts.

As is, with a high profit, a knight captain, and high viz....no boss lasts more than a few seconds (if the 2 dps are specced well). The best part is the cleric and CW don't even need high item level! If a set bonus is trivializing content....i think you can see where this is going.

Only reason it might not get a nerf....quantity. Not a lot out there

The set bonuses are still active on PC and are still BiS. I have a HV Wizard, KC Guardian, and am still trying to aquire my HP set for my DC. I paid 10Mil AD for just the helm of the Knight Captians set so it is crazy expensive for this stuff.

Lostmouth set took a bad nerf here a while ago so set bonuses are def on the table for nerfs however these sets are getting fewer and fewer. I never did get the set for the Warlock and it hasnt' been available on the AH for a long time.

I just hope with the small amount of these left in existance they may not be worth the RnD time to nerf them!
