Quick question if I have 2 of the same companion will I get the active bonus twice?

    The game will not allow you to equip two of the same at the same time, so the answer is unknown.

    Well good thing I didn't try it. What about like the sprites one fire and the other water with the same active bonus?

    Yes you can have 2 different sprites
