Unlockable (SKILL based) Dungeons.

Since the server is down.. I'll just throw this out there.

How do you guys feel about dungeons that are ONLY accessible to people that attain certain Titles or Achievements in the game? You know the stuff that is otherwise useless...

What I'd like to see is dungeons that require Certain Achievements or Titles you earn (mostly) by doing things that give a player a better chance of actually being SKILLED with their toon. If there were dungeons like this that unlocked with SKILL BASED reqs rather than Itel Level.. I think therse dungeons could be designed to be more complex and difficult and that the player base that is allowed to participate in them would be a better group of dependable players that we all could enjoy gaming with. ALSO, it would add relevance to a pre-existing system (that is corrently WASTED CONTENT). The Title and Achievement system.

What you guys think? (and yes, i do know that some people would exploit their way to access... but how is that different than people who exploit other broken skills and sets in game already?)

This has been done in Wild Star... it hasn't gone over very well.

How about just creating content that requires skill? Wouldn't that be easier?

Not sure the current team here is capable of creating something like that though. Its either a no skill stomp, or a 1 shot disaster. They have also proven that they are not capable of preventing powercreep, so even if they figure out a way to make skill required, you will always be able to compensate for lack of skill with gear.

THIS is true.. but being dealt with (A LOT) with the class review... but ofc the GWF isn't being touched. I think the GWF will probably be even more "BEST" dps class because it's SO simple to do dmg with it.. and the only classes they are messing with in the review are 2 that really aren't even close to a threat to the GWF for top dps (except in ways they are nerfing) and the GF nerfs that will lessen everyone's dmg.

Any game that you have the capacity for dps doing so much dps that the mobs die before they can do their skills/powers... or the mechanics of the dungeon are implemented... is a game where the dungeons are trivial and boring.

So, in some regards.. the devs are moving in the right direction... but ofc they are doing it in the area of the way the classes work... instead of limiting what gear and enchants do for you.

Notice how changing how the classes work means they get more money from Respecs and makes IL and gear more important so increases the money they make from people gearing up?
