To those who are considering either pack I will state that the more character slots you have and the more characters you play these packs are worth their values.
Let me start off with the Champion of the North pack.
You get 2 things right away that can be used on all characters on the account that makes this pack worth its value.
1) Purple mount
2) Purple companion
Both can be claimed on all characters. If you play 3 characters these 2 items cover the $60 cost you have to pay for the pack.
Next up is the Dragonborn Pack.
This pack includes some nice starting equipment, I would call it OP as it really boost your stats. Also, you get IMO, the best race. The last thing is the bag with the pack can be used on all characters on the account.
If I had to pick between the two I would start off with the champion pack for the purple mount and companion. Than I would go back and get the Dragonborn pack.
I have both already and have no regrets about these purchases. I wanted to let other know that the cost of the packs are justified given how much mounts, companions and bags can cost.
To sum it up, with 5 character slot if I purchased items equal to the level of the items in the packs I would have spent much more than $135.

Evaluating the two, I feel like I have gotten much more value out of the Dragonborn pack - the bag and race alone make this a very worthwhile purchase. As mentioned by the op, the North pack is also good value for the purple mount (which also packs a lovely +2000 power bonus). The companion, whilst purple, doesn't seem that good unless you can take a lot of advantage of the "prone" condition. I certainly prefer the Mercenary companion from the Heirloom pack over the Panther from the North pack. The Menzo Drow are also fairly lacklustre especially in comparison to both normal drow and dragonborn, but if you like the extra facial tatoos they do have that going for them.
If I had to pick fresh, I think the Dragonborn pack and the Heirloom pack offer the most bang for your initial buck. But as noted, the purple mount is a good reason to go North pack - unless you aim for a normal Zen purple mount instead.
GM - House Stargaryen (PS4 Guild)
I have 6 slots for characters. At $10 for a companion that is $60 for companions. With mounts they are $25 per an account. Just those surpass the $60 value for Champion of the North. From what I have heard it is a single redeemable item. Nice thing is if you get the blue one you can use AD to increase its rank.
> I enjoyed them on the Xbox, but there's no way I'm buying them again.
Same here, no way am l going to buy the Dragonborn pack that l already have on XBox again. I don't get why they won't let us transfer characters over???
> i think im gonna wait for a sale someday for those packs, too pricy for me.
same here buddy i really want the dragonborn pack but no way im payin those prices now if it were to go on sale or i could get one of those discount items for it then we would be talking

while im sure it sucks hard not being able to transfer account purchases over. its really a good thing people cant transfer characters as it would break the exsperiance for new players if people could just transfer a high lvl geared toon to the new system.
It is why I am close to getting my second boon. I was in a dungeon with a player that had over 2500 IL and he had zero boon and had no idea how to get them. Here I was at level 50 with 1 and almost a 2nd.
I think the packs should be transferable but not the characters. Even if the servers were merged, chances are you would not be able to use your PC character on a console. Some games allow that and others do not. As a true F2P game I would state it would not allow that, because this game needs our money in the form of micro transations to keep this ship up and running. I'm fine spending money on a game if I like it. And boy am I liking this game.
I got my money worth in all the packs. I will state that for $60 the Champion of the North is the best bang for the bucks as it truly gives you its value back with just 3 character slots with a mount and comapnions along with other nice bonuses.
I am an avid D&D player and you know I play many alts and play as many powers/roles as possible from my time on DCUO, With that said, it is why I bought all the packages that contain a race and will buy all packs that have a new race with it, if they add a new class with a pack I would buy that too.
I just wish if you had VIP it would give you access to all races, not all other items in the pack, just the races. I think that would be a fair way to allow players to play a Dragonborn, but I can see why they are not doing that, lost of revenue.
I will be honest here though. I liked that I could use +2 in two skill points as I saw fit and I gained +5% to my healing and +3% in crit and power stats. Those are big boost, might not seem like a lot but when you add 2K power from a pet and than power increase from gear and stone it adds up. Also, any increase in % from skill points in Charimsa I believe or maybe Wisdom or is it both, and that comes stats that benefit a cleric, which I am. So for someone who wanted to play a cleric day 1 and wanted to play as a dragonborn and max his stats out it only made sense for me to buy the dragonborn pack, cost has never been a big issue for me as long as I enjoy the game. The other thing is I get 30 additional inventory slots, a level 96 artifact at level 4, and a ring that increases in level as I increase in level on all characters adds value to the pack.
To put simply, the more characters you play the more valuable the packs become. It is why I bought them.
drathmor can vouch for me that I will more than likely have 6 characters I will play in this game.
i know it would be nice for people who have played on the other systems to allow their purchases to transfer but like you said the creators want their new console money. I also agree that would be fine as long as the toons couldn't transfer..
and i feel like im repeating my self but I too am being sucked in hard to this game hell DC had a game update last night and the last DLC for a while probably next week but im having a hard time caring. Not that ill ever totaly quit DC but it will be a while before i log into it again with out a call from friends. Neverwinter is just too good right now
After that I may play a renegade drow Ranger or Rogue, have to use dual wield weapon if you are a drow renegade like good old Dritz.
Another class and race combo I'm considering is Tiefling Wizard.
As for the packs if anyone is considering spending any type of money at least consider the Champion of the North pack. It is like buying a $60 game and IMO the pack has more than paid for itself once I get all of my characters to end game.

I disagree with your coment about races as all classes can be good with any but there's always 1 or 2 that are optimal, for example, thiefling is the best for warlock. If you could build 2 characters with the same items and stats, the dragonborn would be outdps by the thiefling. Likewise, a half-orc is by all means superior as a great weapon fighter.
Dragonborn vs. Tielfing - Tielfing gets 5% more damage when an enemy health is less than 5%. Now with a Dragonborn I get a 3% increase in my crit and power.
Tielfing will do 5% more damage 50% of the time.
Dragonborn will get 3% increase in power and crit stat all the time. This mean more crit hits = more damage and a 3% increase in power means more damage. How much more depends on the character power.
As for stats, both can bet +2 in Con, Cha, and Int. The difference is the other ability that Tiefling has which can help the group out. But Dragonborn get more healing in, so that is less strain on the leader and when soloing the Dragonborn Warlock will hela themselves better and may not need as many potions.
The Dragonborn 3% in crit and power makes them viable for all classes and +2 to any stats. IMO, that makes it a very viable race for all classes. The classes that benefit the most for being Dragonborn are probably Devoted Cleric and Oathbound Paladins.
I typically play the race I want to as I know that racial abilities provide some bonuses but those bonuses are not game changing abilities.
For instance, look at Halfing racial abilities and it would seem to be perfect for a Guardian Fighter, but it does not mean a player playing a Drow cannot be a good Guardian Fighter or someone playing a Sun Elf or Half-Elf.
As I stated in other games, it about player skill more than just small abilities that are granted at level 1.
Wait a second, are you sure the dragonborn gets extra 3% power and crit all the time? I think the dragonborn actually has a chance to get a temporary 3% boost to those stats rather than having it all the time and in that case the thiefling would be the best choice. No, a little bit more incoming healing doesn't make much of a difference, I mean, if it was like +20% incoming healing then yeah that would be quite a significant advantage, however that's not the case.
You just said what I did already about each class having an ideal race however I disagree about paladins, I think humans are the superior choice although not by much.
Dragonborn is recommended as a Paladin if you go the healing route as you get a boost in healing from both racial abilities.
Tielfing do an over 5% in damage when the enemy health is at 50%, so in reality the Tielfing averages around 2.5% more damage due to their racial ability.
Which one is better? It would all depend on how much power a player has. The more power a player has available the more damage they would do Dragonborn.
IMO, Tiefling is great for any class where a player want to focus on damage but if you don't like how the way the race looks, chances are you won't play it.
I keep hearing complaints in game by friends about inventory slots. I have no issues as I start off with 60 on every character.
What about Wednesday's?
