How to report gold spammers

So.... I didn't think it would happen this fast, but we've already got gold spammers in PS4 chat. What's the best way to report these guys? Maybe if we get started now, it won't be so bad later...

idk how they spam you cant use zone chat till 15 so gussing they use all chat... not much you can do every mmo' have gold spammers ... just report them is all you can do... just never buy then you can get banned

Yea, but how do we report them, that's what I'm asking. On PC you can right click their name, and report spam. No such options on PS4, that I can find at least, so that's why I'm asking.

I know in the long run, it probably won't do anything, but I'm hoping that anything helps slow it a little. At PC launch it was really bad, and it's still not great, but launch was MUCH worse than it is now.

find them go up to them click interact will say report.player believe its last option . or take a screen shot and send it to support , should be under contact us on the forums

To report a player in chat, press L1 + down button on your control pad to bring up the chat window, then press your touchpad to navigate the chat pane. Navigate to the offending user's name and press X, then select "Report Offending Player". Select your reason from the provided list (in this case, chat spamming), enter any supporting information in the box provided, and press the triangle button. You'll receive a confirmation prompt, press X to confirm or circle to cancel.

AHHH!!! I didn't realize hitting the touchpad did that... I figured it would take me to the next area of the UI, not to scroll the chat window...

Good luck with it. After a month you'll have the report and ignore options committed to muscle memory and will be able to do it in your sleep.

those idiots destroy all mmo games, hope the admins will do something about this very soon, if they want people to buy from the cash shop, i wanted to buy a few character slots, but gonna wait now...

Hey man all you can do is report them in game and then report them through the ps4 options to report spammer etc.

I agree actually. I couldn't work out why they didn't just have an admin monitoring trade chat banning them. It's got to be faster than everybody sending in reports.
Out of interest, looks like you can only report 1 per minute or so, is there a way to block chat from people other than to report them? I couldn't find it.

You don't need to click on them, you select their name from the chat log and do it that way as mentioned above. I however did not see a simple ignore option anywhere. Maybe I missed it.

its best to just turn off trade chat you'll get tired of repotring they make 100's of accounts

From what I can tell 100% of the gold seller spam is in the Trade channel. Apparently there are level restrictions to /Zone and /tells that dont apply to /trade.

I resorted to just muting that entire channel since I'd never use it anyway. Anything I want to sell I just put on the AH.

I havent seen a gold spammer since that I recall.

Also make sure to report the PSN profile to Sony as "SPAM". These gold/AD sellers mostly make new PSN accounts to be able to spam these MMOs, so if you report them to Sony also those accounts will be banned from PSN.

Considering the game is completely free to play and doesn't even require PlayStation plus, they'll just make another PSN account

Today hasn't been too bad...if you turn off the TRADE channel.
Which is really kind of sad.
Because now instead of goldsellers spamming ZONE the legit players trying to buy/sell fairly are forced to spam ZONE.
