Going to pick up the ps4 head start bundle and need some help deciding on a class.

I'm trying to decide between a GWF or a DC. Are they both able to solo? Are they both needed in groups? Any build suggestions? Which is the most fun?

I don't play a GWF, so no specifics for it. At 70, most 5 man groups require 1 tank, 1Healer and 3 DPS for random queues. GWF will likely be to most common class made in the beginning and will compete for one of the DPS slots. A DC will compete with a healing paladin and healing warlock for the healer spot. Tanks will likely be the most in demand overall for queue groups.

Yes, they can both solo 1-70, but a healing DC will take much longer. A Righteous DC can solo more easily, but is not going to be needed in groups for some time. At the highest levels over 3000 ilvl groups, a buff/debuff Righteous will likely become the DC most requested.
Both are needed in groups, but with the new factor, healing DC will queue faster as usually fewer player start with support classes. The Faithful path is most forgiving for newer players.
No build suggestions, it's a waste until you learn the mechanics and skills. Many recommended builds may use items that may or may not be available on PS4.
Fun is subjective, no one can answer that for you.

This question heavily relies on play style.
I could recommend a GF but how do I know you enjoy tanking.

I want to be a tank or healer. I didn't know which was the tank. I want to fill a role and get into groups easily. I enjoy tanking and healing equally

GWF, if built and geared correctly, is extremely easy to solo everything meant to be soloed (and some stuff that's not!). They are mainly a DPS class. Not especially tanky, unfortunately.

DC's are a bit squishier. While they can heal themselves somewhat, they are better at healing others in their group. They are harder to level. If you really enjoy tanking and healing, I recommend an Oathbound Paladin. They can be either tanks or healers, depending on which paragon path they take at level 30. They are decent in both paths, as long as geared and built properly.

OP's don't really generate enough threat to hold the tank though. I heard there were some changes in the pipeline but they arent' here yet. the op does have the best healing set though. the GF is a buff debuff tank.. it's more useful in parties than the op. can't speak for changes in the pipeline but as it stands now.
