This latest Event is an insult....

...seriously, all there is to get besides some color theme most consider simply ugly is a third grade mount for 25(!) coins, where you might get one for a 10 minute effort you have to wait for for 20 minutes.
This in itself would be boring enough and keeping you from other activites in the game, at least if you want to get one or two of those...
...but then they got the braindead idea to tie the reward for this mini game to their dysfunctional RNG again!
I tried it several times just because I couldn't believe it at first: scoring in the top 25%, 20% of the participants and getting NOTHING AT ALL.
(Not to mention new bugs like inactive firework crates, active but empty one and not empty ones which just add nothing to your fireworks stack in the inventory).
Are they seriously trying to drive their customers away by means of overwhelming frustration, or did they once again "ship when it builds", without a single test run'?

Chill out... I am not doing the event. I would rather chase down boons and prepare for mod 10. Do nothing that is of no use...

I hate paying taxes! Why must I pay thousands of dollars in taxes when everything I buy is taxed anyways!

I pop in fireworks I've collected while out and about. Primarily just to get them out of my inventory.
I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.

I do the daily for... Well, I have no idea why I do the daily.

I did the daily, got the panther and wait until it is worth something in AH ;)
But the event is bad nevertheless...

I like events that hold little interest to me, gives me more time to concentrate on the events that do interest me. Gond is coming up and there are things in that event I do want and now is a good time to prepare for it.

I gave up about one o'clock; having done maybe 30 - 40 runs, still at 13 favors (and I wasn't even at zero when the even started).
That last four blanks in a row (with ranking between 4 and 8) was the straw that broke the camel's back - had I drawn one more without a favor I probably would've just deleted the game.

This is too late to help, but a score of 1 guaranteed a Favor. Scoring 5 to 199 was actually worse than scoring 1. It's a bad implementation coupled with bad communication.

    Thanks, I didn't knew that.
But It wouldn't have helped me, since among the other 20+ participant were always some who put a big bunch of precollected or bought fireworks on the stage and thus wont the first rank with quite a lot of points.

My post wasn't clear. What I meant was that donating a single firework guarantees a Favor.

Dumb luck I'm afraid. RNGesus must love you very much. Or hate me even more. Dropped 200 on the pile by mistake the first time. Got into the silver bracket and got 2 fireworks in return. Then I remembered how it went last year and sold the rest

It's not RNG. The contest is badly designed.

Donate 1 to 4 fireworks: win 1 favor
Donate 5 to 199 fireworks: win 0 or 1 favor
Donate 200 to 499 fireworks: win 1 or 2 favors
Donate 500+ fireworks: win 2 or 3 favors

Watching paint dry or watching my Coffer hop around is more exciting than ANY OF THE EVENTS. Not an original thought going on in their collective minds... only thought is around grinding.

I believe it was Strum that said this last year... "When a player runs out of things to enchant, enchants to refine, or RP to grind for, what is left to do in the game?"

Is that how it worked? If I had realized that I wouldn't have tried so hard and just sat on the stage and donated one each time the event came up. Now I'm even more irritated at how many hours I spent playing trying to get that panther. Especially since I never did get enough favors.

It was the same last year if not the year before that even. There was nothing I needed to farm besides the Achievement so that's all I did this year.
